I believe some water got too it. There was a few drops in the hull when I tore the cover off, Im guessing thats what did it. I didnt really do that much running for it to get that hot. Im gunna make sure that the next ESC I put in there will be water tight for sure. The thing is, I dont want to encapsulate the ESC so it cant disapate heat. any suggestions?

What kind of speedo was it again?

If it's water cooled you can always put some balloons over the ends....not water proof but splash proof.

Some guys fill the ends in with a kind of sho goo.

I have seen speedos blow up for no apparent reason. Water usually isn't the cause..mostly from bad fets on the board.

Hacker, Shultze and lately Castles have been very good.

well I just got back from the hobby shop and picked up a E-flight 40 ESC. Its 40 Amp, which is kinda overkill, so it should run cooler than the last one. Ill have it in the boat to test this upcoming weekend. This one has a much better factory sealed cover. Im going to silicon coat it also, wires and all. Should do the trick. The last one was a piece of crap "otter"

Larry,

I do not know if silicon would be wise to use. Check to see that the vinegar( acid base ) will not start a problem down the road with the speed control.

good call richard, a good friend of mine just told me that silicon is not safe for electronics. Ill have to come up with something else.

Yes,

Rek is correct but there is/are some products that won't harm your electronics...just don't know what it is.

Then again you don't have to get that goop on your board.
