all right.. can't wait to see pics of you with a big grin holding your new pride and joy :)

Hey guys I learned a little about Darkhedeos today. He is very shy, the typing he did today was more than he said when he was over the house today....LOL

B)

It was pretty cool because we were looking at the mono Bob Howard sent and the care package Russell sent. Those were the only two that had arrived as of yet. So we went through them and talked about all that stuff. B)

I explained to DH how servos work, what torque and speed in a servo means and how it relates to turning a boat or working a throttle etc.... I showed him my extra servos and showed him the size differences in them......

We talked about radios, I showed him almost all of my boats and gave suggestions about set ups, paint schemes. :)

We talked about the flex cables and how a good stuffing tube must be set up. Glo-ignitors, glow plugs, fuel, stuff like that. And how to actually fuel the boat up.

Now for the cool part:

So, as he was getting ready to go home he was in his mom's mini-van. Right before they were about to drive off...........eeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrttttttt my mail woman comes skidding into my drive way! I tell my kids to flag Darkhedeos down.......They're yellin' and hollerin' "WAIT, WAIT, the mail womens here don't go!"

Oh my God!!! I was so excited to open this stuff up. Everyone so far has sent some awesome stuff.

Darkhedeos is coming over Tuesday morning and we plan on getting started builing this stuff. All get plenty of pictures so you guys can follow along.

My opinion is the mono is bad as hell w/this bronze metal flake paint job. I'm not sure what that stuff is called but it's basically glitter in epoxy instead of paint or plain old gel-coat. I'd say leave well enough alone and not paint it because you can't sand it off and since it's mint go with it.

However, I'm showing my age, I think the Dark man wants to change the color??

The tunnel hull is very cool, Kevin you did a good job with the checker boards, they are plush, is that a good quality paint job or are they decals???

The Dark man went through my Deltron PPG and picked out some nice blues and silvers. He e-mailed me a nice looking fishing lure tonight that he'd like the tunnel to be painted like.

Bill, Dave and Kevin thanks for all the stuff you sent this kid.

He is very shy so you guys encourage him to speak up, talk a little and tell me what he'd like to do to help and to not be afraid to ask me a lot of questions.

He's gonna need a lot of help. He is really a real Newbie for sure for sure! And most of this boat stuff is foreign to him.

Ive learned a lot from that one trip to Rodney's place. Flex cables are much more flexible than i thought, learned that the trim tabs are for making the boat go straight, you cant sand everything, and some more stuff like taht. i wonder what i will learn on tuesday

Darkhedeos,

When you come over Tuesday I'm thinking, I'll show you how to polish aluminum. Well start with the K&B .21 Dave sent you. Well do some sanding on the tunnelhull and put together a fue  l tank and set up the radio box. Time allowing of course..LOL

HAHAHAHAHA your gonna be surprised just how long it'll take to do just that stuff. :D That can be the back burner though, what did you have in mind???

Dudes

Do i need to jump in here?

Rock on

Grim

Just tell me what it needs to fit and we can make a go of it.

Grim,

Please jump in here. DH is gonna need a lot of help. ;)

The Concept tunnel is pretty similar to the Villian in some ways. It has a used 12oz Sullivan tank in it now. There's about a 7 1/2 by 2 1/2 space for a fuel cell. ;)

Hey guys, all of you, anyone etc...should tell DH what it takes to do a radio box, fuel tank or cell, getting the CG, radio range polish aluminum and props and doing a stuffing tube....etc...... Give him as much knowledge as he can handle. He truly is a newbie so when I tell him things I think maybe until you've tried it and realized something that seems simple can take hours.

I remember the first time I attempted to do a fuel tank. The guy said bend the brass, insert and tighten...........YEAH LIKE IT WAS THAT EASY".....I WAS CUSING LIKE A HORSE, NO ONE TOLD ME YOU NEED TO HEAT BRASS UP TO BEND IT RIGHT, OR THAT TO GET THE TUBE UP INTO THAT LITTLE BUBBLE FOR PRESSURE IS A PAIN IN THE OLD KEISTER.....lol tOOK ME TWO HOURS AND TWO TRIPS TO THE LOCAL HOBBY SHOP TO GET EXTRA BRASS TUBES!

Wow how cool is that! All you guys rock!

It's so nice to see everyone helping out a someone new. Kids really need constructive things to do with their free time. I don't know what I would have done if I diden't have my RC cars years ago! ;)

Rcboats2 - I'm really glad to see that someone steped in to help him put everything together. Please give your self a pat on the back! Congrats, now your a mentor!
