I am currently running a keywest with a700 bb on 8 cells with a x447 prop on it I went to 12 cells and it would just spin the prop and finnaly plane out but was not much faster than the 8 cell pack I was running in it before wondering if anyone had any ideas on what prop I should use or if this is too much weight for the keywest it did sit awfully low in the water even on plane it had too much wetted surface to suit me any help would be nice

I ran mine on 12 cells and a 640-642 this was excellent, I have heard some like this cat on a 437/3.... hope it helps

8 cells won't spin a 700 fast enough imho, for 8 cells you might be better with a brushless or plett set-up..

A lot depends on which wind (voltage rating) your motor is. Keywest's are very commonly run on 12 cells and 700 motors, but the motor has to be the 7.4V. BB wind.

Also, if your cat is running properly on 12 cells and the hull is running too wet, then there is something wrong with your drive trim or CG position.

Doug I think you meant the 8.4 BB ? the 700 motor of choice seems to be the SS! from fine design.. although a lot of fellas run the 8.4 bb from graupner...
