Ok, here's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!
Day started off with Mary's Sprint and the "Better, Faster, Powerful" motor.. Dang thing only churned up water/air.. Would have made a great blender!!! Lowered the motor to get more bit, seemed even worse.. Ok, took off the Grim 1440 prop and replaced it with a 440.. Same results.. Lowered the motor even more, still doing the blender deal.. Later inquired with Bob (krpnova) to what he might think the problem is (besides the mechanic!).. No cav plate on motor most likely the cause.. Great, "HER" boat is down for the count and I now have to put up with the "Better, Faster, Powerful" comment for the day.. Not just from Mary mind you, but the better part of the Fun Run crowd..
Believe next was the Solution for an attempted run... Motor fired up alright, which surprised the crap out of me.. Never fired 13cc mod'd motor with pipe with the use of a 3rd channel remote needle. Tossed the boat into the water and a few non-kind words from Mary.. As she was bringing the boat back into shore, it dawn'd on me what the problem was.. Steering was backwards  and since it was this way, the Solution ran (length wise) into the jon boat.. No damage done... Ok, got the servo reversed and fired up again. Boat ran lap +/- and the center post crapped out again. After borrowing Bob's feeler gauge, came to conclusion I need to buy the proper tool to figure out head clearance.
The Bar Code was fired up next, only to have the fuel on the heavy side... This is the first time using a 3rd channel remote needle I'll add... Boat ran quite slow due to the rich setting.. Took me awhile to figure out how to change the control arm on the remote needle. Boat sat for awhile before going back to it..
Lastly, the Sport 40 was fired up.. To my surprise, it fired right up.. This boat has sat for at least a couple of years without seeing any nitro. Tossed the boat out and it SCREAMED like a banshee.. Think some eyes were hitting the ground when this boat went out. Mary was able to get in a few laps before a blow over. After going out in Leak'n Lena (which gave me the Wet Arse), motor was prepped for another run. Boat made one turn and promptly blew over again.. After retriveal, found radio in the water box.. Another boat bites the dust...
Ok, back to the bar code.. After fixing the 3rd channel mixture control, figured I'd give it another shot.. Well, this is where it got hairy for me.. Don't know why I did it this way, put the fuel fill line after the 3rd channel needle instead of directly into the fuel cell.. While looking down at the very spot, the fill line came out of the fuel line and promptly sprayed 65% fuel into both of my eyes.. Believe it was John and Mary that came to my rescue with water to wash out the eyes.. A second flush was done just to make sure it was cleaned out..
Ok, some of that might have been out of order.. I'll just use the fuel in eyes excuse for anything out of order!!!
