I had an opportunity to race the BOAT at Twin Lakes, Arlington, WA. RCU invited ERCU to be part of their event. The good news is the BOAT runs well and corners great. The bad news is the boat lacks straightaway speed. The good news is I have a couple of props with more diameter to test before the next race in 3 weeks. The BOAT finished 2nd five times. But, there were only three boats in the class.

The really good news is the ABC 1914-75R worked really well during a test session this morning.:)
Really looking forward to the ERCU in Longview, WA, on July 6.

At last Saturday's ERCU race in Lacey, WA, another boat spun out at the start of a heat, crossed a couple of lanes to the right, and directly into the established lane of my BOAT. I hit the other boat WOT and basically destroyed the front of my left sponson. The other boat, carbon fiber construction, kept running(however, it was DQed after the heat finished), the BOAT sank after about a minute. Luckily, it was only about 4' deep and the water was fairly clear. It never occurred to me that the BOAT would sink. It also never occurred to me that I would be involved in a collision that would destroy part of the BOAT.

The good news it is repairable. Before running the BOAT again I will stuff the open areas of the framework with pool noodle material.

It seems to me that I remember a pink boat needing to be retrieved from our 50 foot deep pond a few (over 20) years back.

Yeah, and they don't float. Neither does the ESC, rudder servo, and running hardware. Using CA glues, I had the damage repaired in one day(a somewhat long day, but one day). At least the damage didn't mess up any of the graphics on the BOAT:).

OK Dunny...now finish it.....Tape it off and get a can of White Krylon and let her have it....
P.S.Nice repair job......That is why I like wood boats.....and it is "old school" skills......
That's my definition of fun....

Building wood model boats is fun. Fixing broken model boats is, well, necessary if you want to run them again. The rattle can paint of choice for the BOAT has been RUSTO-LEUM. I did apply a coat of primer to the repaired area prior to spraying on the Gloss White.

Ready again for [2] buoys and the beach and an occasional misplaced dead boat.....
P.S....I prefer Krylon because it dries faster...HaHa...

Sounds like Dunny needs to add a reverse gear to his BOAT. Being able to back up might have kept most of the water out until it got to the beach:rolleyes:

I'm' going to be building the FE, 1985 the U-100 Miss Rock ( I believe its the same Hull number as Ur the Boat ) can U give me the actual dimension of the 1/10 scale 8255 hull IE' Length , Width Tunnel , Sponson depth, After plane length Ect.
So I can register the boat with the local clubs.
I just order the MLB kit & Newton plans and will not have them for a couple of weeks
