Andy why do you think all the pics face the same general direction? He build so fast Foley, there's no time for a mess to build upKeep the pics coming !!! Now ...how about some pics of the REAL workbench !!!! I don't know you keep everything so clean and orderly .....unless pics are staged .  Can't wait to see it finished .
Nice looking work ( as usual) Don,
Decided on color yet ????
Andy
Yeah I've been thinking the same thing, don't know if that's in the 2010 house budget though. The doors aren't the expensive part, it'll be the brickwork to close it up to double door framing that'll hurt the wallet the most. ****, where's a bricklayer who needs an R/C boat built or painted when ya need one? Regardless there won't be any painting today, 20-30mph winds out of the WNW with gusts over 40, the fan I use to exhaust the shop can't compete with that. Doesn't look much better for tomorrow either.....Don, this spring we need to put those insulated barn doors on the shop. That roll up door's not cutting it.Hammer
The wind finally stopped blowing @ 30+ mph and I got to spray some colors tonight.
don mike larson is a brick layer.. and i was impressed with the colors , i went to that color myself wow it looks good on the water. and how do you keep that door so shiney and white.. when i paint it is turning everything that color..lolYeah I've been thinking the same thing, don't know if that's in the 2010 house budget though. Hey Lynn, the main reason I put the build threads out there is to share with people how I do things so that hopefully others can benefit from it. Other than perhaps the painting, everything I do during a build is nothing special once you've gotten a grip on it. Little tricks like how I do my water lines through a radio box, tips like measure twice- cut/drill/grind once and neat tools like the center finding rulers are things that make a build turn out like I want and if it's something that helps a fellow boater then that's what's most important to me.Any chance of getting the gallery back or is it lost forever. I can't build anywhere like Don, but I look at the pics and dream of being able to and to have something close to as nice. Lynn
In all the years I've been running that "incident" @ Hobart was the only time I've ever had a RX come unplugged and it was 100% my fault remember? Got in a rush to put the radio box lid back on the Roadrunner twin and unknowingly pulled the power lead loose from the lid mounted switch to the steering RX which decided to let go the rest of the way right as Stu and I went around 1, 2 and 3 at the start side by side (that was a bummer too as we were both jazzed about hookin' up at the start for what would have been a killer heat). Good thing I run dual RX's as I was able to throttle it off and shut it down before it came back around and nailed the clock. You'll notice where the switches are on this boat so that will not be a problem, but I will look into a piece of soft "spongy" foam glued to the underside of the lid to gently press down on those leads if it'll keep a good pitman and even better friend happy.Humor an old man/pitmanput some sort of safety on those receiver plugs.
Dude you're not serious are you? Man don't cross my name off of the list. What do I have to do, sell the Jag?? :blink:Hey Don,
I just noticed that you got a new Jaguar Twin. That really takes the heat off of me now on building a new Crapshooter Twin for you. I have crossed you off my list and already moved someone into your place. Thanks!
Stu
