Hi,
I am currently finishing of a JAE33 rigger for 5 lap oval racing and a mill and slow down lap. I race a JAE21 rigger on 4s 6700mah with a TP4050-2100kv "Y" on a ABC 1815-17-45 prop and come back with 30% left after a 5 lap race including mill and slow down lap after race. It works out to be pulling between 150-180 amps and 2800 watts. I would like to use the same 1815-17-45 prop on the new 6s Rigger and it works out a 1400kv motor on 6s with same prop should get me approx the same speed as 4s set up ( i realise the 6s battery is 300 grams heavier) but with 1/3 less amp draw, so approx 105-120 amps. I am trying to work out what size and kv motor i would need to get me back into the 150-180amp range and approx 3500 watts on the 6s 6700mah set up so i would be coming back with approx 30% left after race.
My thoughts were TP4050-1570 "Y", TP4050-1700 "D", TP 4060-1650 "D" but not sure which one. I would prefer to stay with "Y" wind as i believe some "D" wind motors are amp hogs.
I know there is a lot of info out there on 6s JAE33 rigger set ups but most are SAW stuff and not oval racing. If anyone who is racing 6s Rigger and has some info that would help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance

30% is far too low. 50% is your bottom. that is because the top batteries anyone has tested in the past 15 years have a IR of around 1.5moh. which is about 165A @ 50% (3.85v). so running it below that at those amps are stressing the batteries.

a motor would be a TP 4060 1350kv. that would be the smallest motor for 6s you can get away with having a rating of 140A/3000w. In reality it can handle about 3400w continuously which will be 65mph with the right prop. that prop would not be competitive though. a 4616 would be more appropriate.

the 33fe is no way, shape, or form capable of handling the weight of 6s and it will sink if the cowl comes off. Its happened to me and quite a few others. I do not recommend it at all. Get ML boatworks or wait for the R6 rigger that zippkits has coming soon.

a far better path for the 33fe is to get a TP 4060 motor but with a castle ESC and SMC batteries on 4s and push it to 300A 70mph for 2 lap time trial running.
