Guys I am looking for a prop recommendation for my JAE 21 it is a little on the heavy side compared to what some of you guys have posted for numbers .It had been running well with the 5 port and full dia 1450 but it was time for a new motor so i decided to do a 7 port and new pipe while i was at it.

It will be receiving a new 7 port NR as well as the wood/cooper pipe and am wondering what you would suggest for a prop.I have one suggestion from a friend but was looking for another suggestion to have as a backup.

Motor will be modded, stock carb and 50% nitor , no higher.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

depending on nitro and a few other things but as a whole

is the motor stock?

without knowing i would say this. that pipe doesn't like FULL BLADE DIA. detong 1450 46 - 47mm with 3.2 - 3.6 cup will work well. . make the pipe short ( under 8" ) like 7 3/4 - 7 7/8

other wise a s-15 works well h-7 h-6 1650 dia cut down detong

that is a few to get you started

Terry,

H-6,H-7,or a reduced 1450 or 50 x 69 from ABC.

The seven port will like 46mm propellers.

what are you calling heavy, terry? a rtr weight would help...... how modded a nr? on & off switch, or more driveable? lmk, my jae is starting to come around B) .

I would have to weigh it againg but i think around 4.5lbs.No on off switch for me .I want to be able to slow down then pipe up and turn a little left if i have to.I want what i have only faster....

mine weighs in at 4 lbs. 1 oz. less fuel. cmb greenhead LS EVO@ done like what you're saying. very driveable, easy launch, off plane & back up, no issues. i'm swinging a 1450 at 48.5 mm diameter & 3.75 cup  . smaller of the 2 AB billet 180* ex. pipes set at 7 1/2". running 65/18 wildcat. guessing it was running mid 70 laps this weekend. get with jimmy johnson/racer158 on a prop B) .

Robin,

Reduce the 1450 a touch more and it will go even faster yet. :D

I am currently running a 1455 reduced on my JAE-21 with VERY GOOD

RESULTS.

Take Care,

Mark Sholund

Why would we want to reduce the prop more?, it doesn't have enough load now.

Respectfully,

Jimmy Johnson

Jimmy,

The S-15 is the way to go if you need more pitch then.

I needed more load for my set up so I went to the 1455.

I like the 1455 right now and the boat is very easy to drive

and handles very well. That motor must be STOUT.

Thanks,

Mark,

I agree about the 1455,I don't know how much your reducing the dia., but in my opinion I would reduce it to about the 50-52 mm range. My test results, haven't been as good with the s-15,but we all know how everyone's results will vary. Robin's boat is running good, but we haven't found the proper load yet. It leaves the beach very well and has great throttle control. That JAE is a nice boat...

Jimmy,

I just did a series of 1455's(45,46,47,48,49,50 mm)I like to test. :D

Going to try a few of them and see what our motor likes the best.

The 45mm pitched up went pretty fast, but now I am looking for more

tip speed, so I will try the others this week. The S-15 is a lot of

propeller for a 21 motor. FYI, Andy told me that the S-15 started as

a 1655 reduced. We have had some good results with a 1452

and even a 1816 from ABC.

Good Luck Testing,

Have Fun,

Mark Sholund
