Mark

sounds good, are you turning a lot of rpm's or more of a torque set up?

what about 1650 as it has around the same pitch as the 1455.

Mark

pipes-- i need to get onto it as i have been very busy

will send you a pm

regards Aaron
Aaron,

A nice "torky setup" prop is a 1650 ,detongued and raked 17 degrees on the trailing edge.FWIW.

Mark would you pm me the tracking number for the props you sent out on the 18th please. You did something to the thread we had going and I cannot reply to it ??

Terry,

Check your post office box, as I am sure it has arrived.

I did not track it because you did not request that service.

I just deleted our old thread maybe that is why your posts

have not come through to me.

Sorry,

Mark Sholund

Ok thanks.I will be picking up all my packages next time in maine.Your right they are probably there.

Would someone be kind enough to show me how they cut their header and pipe to get it as short as it should be and still keep the ring on the cooper/woods pipe so the coupler will not slip.I was eyeballing it but do not want to mess it up.

And do i measure to the middle of the band or the weld.

My 3280 slides on over my NR header just a hair and i run that with my 5 port at 7.5"

If it's a NR header, cut the header so that there is about .25 in of straight left on the header

I called john knight and he talked me through it.Should be good to go...Testing this weekend..

Terry,

Try 7.50" with the S-Pipe and the 1450 that I did for you.

You should be ready for the Northern Nats.

Have Fun Testing,

Mark Sholund

Thanks guys I am at 7.75 right now and i have a new motor to break in .I figured it would be better to break the motor in with being a little long on the pipe and not have to fight with it.I will take the tools i need to cut more off the pipe or header to get me to 7.5 if i need to.

I plan to try all both the 1450 and the h7 i got from you mark.I also got a new tank from walt and got rid of my two plastic tank setup looks may more clean under the hood...lol..

The boat ran well before with the 5 port and 3280 and now i have a new NR 7 port motor /cooper-woods pipe/metal tank /and new props. So i have big hopes.

Testing tomorrow

Terry,

We have excellent speeds with the 5-port and a 7.5" S-Pipe length.

The 7- Port still needs more time. We have found so far the 7- Port

Does not pull as much propeller as the 5-Port engine.

Good Luck Testing,

Mark Sholund

On my boat the 1450 or pitched up 1445 works a little better than the H7. The h7 seems to lift a little more over wakes,.. that's the only difference for me.

Anthony,

I can fix that H-7 if it is lifting on you.

Pretty simple fix, don't be afraid to send it back to me

for a tuneup.

Thanks,

I went out today, heat cycled the motor as per my knights and quarles instructions and built some heat in the motor and eventually ran about 1/2 gallon through it.i tried the 1450 from mark and the pipe at 7.75 and it would run slow and pipe up and turn left when i needed to so i am set.I will try to shorten the pipe and play with props another day but for now I am very pleased .It will get faster as the engine breaks in., for now it's raceable for sure.

Well guys,,, not wanting to be one who takes info and does not give feedback.I went off to the race with my JAE 21 all decked out with a New NR 7 port and the woods /cooper pipe and a new 1450 from mark and a new tank from walt. The boat had seen about 1/2 gallon and I heat cycled it as suggested and I ended up finishing all my heats and winning the class so I would have to say I am very pleased.

I am still learning the sound of the engine and had a couple lean runs but I will figure that out as I go.

Thanks for the help.

On the lean run topic,.. I have gotten to a routine that help. On my radio it displays number for where the servo is. Can't do this if changing props or anything but I know that the boat launches well at a certain number, then gets on the pipe at another. I like to launch at the first number.. then mill around and adjust to the next number,.. then hit it.. Takes some testing to get to those numbers but I think it helps when running with other boats..

just my thoughts//

I am just going to go by my ear.I am not coordinated enough to watch the boat and the screen for another number...lol..Our pond is tight and i would be in a mess...
