Hey Folk's,

I got my first August shipping and for my and Brazilian costumers surprise... the first 2 x Jae 21 O/B Kit's was inside of container! hehehehe

One will be build for a new O.S 21XM V2 and maybe upgrade to a TecnoPower Power Head and the last one with K&B 3.5 SS or CMB 21RS/Lawlessdrive.

I will let us know how the works going on ;-)

Cheers.

So I got to spend some quality time with the boat this morning tunning and tweaking and I am please to report that the boat is very fast and very stable. My problem with the boat blowing over at the bottom of the fuel tank ended up being a little too much rudder control. By reducing the throw I was able to get most of that out of the boat. I am completely suprised by the ride attitude of the boat even with all the weight of the OB on the rear. I am looking forward to running this against the inboard hydros but by my radar gun I am more than competitive with this boat.

Here is the setup I ran today:

OS Vii, completely stock

Octura X438 detongued (this made a big difference in the boats overall performance)

Grim Racer 50% +

My CG of the boat is about 8 3/4 empty and about 9 fueled and ready to run.

Speed using my radar gun was in the high 30s which for this altitude is pretty fast.

I was turning a high RPM and may be able to prop-up but I didn't have anything ready for testing today at the lake

I am very pleased and excited about this boat and I am working towards getting some others interested so that we can have a whole heat of these.

Happy racing!

Great David continue posting your experience...I'm sure more people would be interested to run this class. Thanks Gill

Another great day at the pond with the new boat and I learned some additional things about the boat. As I last reported that the boat was blowing off near the end of the tank and that I had solved it by reducing my rudder throws. I have some additional detail here, it was specifically too much left. Touching left at high speed with too much throw flipped the boat every time. This make sense since the boat was blowing off at almost the same place. It turns out that lately to avoid some patches of weeds in the water I have been making slight course corrections on the back straight to avoid the weeks with a slight left...

Reducing the left throw solved this problem completely.

Also as I reported that I had been running a detongued X438 and the boat ran really well with high RPM and it was very fast. Today I jumped a prop to an M440 and the boat pulled it with absolutely no problem and the boat lit up like a rocket. I am so impressed with this boat and the way it handles the high speeds. My next jump is to a M442 and or M444 until the RPM starts to fall off. I will report my speeds once I find the optimal prop.

I just go the JRS Innovations stand for this boat and it is awesome. It has a lot of support around the rear sponsons and ski for outboard starting. It fits the boat exactly with the built in prop guard for the outboard.

If you are interested in one of these he has them for $60+ Shipping.

All of my J.A.E boats do really cool things in the air when hard left is added I think I should stop doing it.

I stretched a rod yesterday on mine, put a motor on it last night and ready for the weekend.

Like you I love this thing it could become my favorite boat

Nice stand that looks great

Mike,

I haven't taught all of my boats to fly yet, just the OB outrigger. It wasn't a hard left at all for me. It was just touching the left caused the problem when the tank was empty and the boat was light. Adjusting my turn fin should fix this.

Yes. We designed it to do FE as well. We can make them with a long one piece lid too...
