I'm spending the week up at the 'Nats and could phone in reports to someone that would like to post them. I can try to call at a certain time every day to give updates on what is happening, who won, any new records, etc. if the person doing it would be ready to take down the info and post it. I'll come back with a load of pix to post afterwards.

If you are interested, send me a PM with your phone number.

19 more days, I can't wait!

Ron,

I might be able to help you out. I'll send you an e-mail to your aol address. If you find someone better qualified I won't be offended! LOL ;D

CySlyde has offered also. It doesn't matter much to me who wants to do it. I don't have a cell phone at the moment so I'll be calling from the pay phone near the Campgrounds entrance using a calling card.

The calling time would depend on how busy I would be that day but I think that I could come up with a set time.

I want to report a new speed record which could easily be done there. 130+ MPH? Quite possibly!

hey Ron,

Keep an eye out for that Craig Chenco Character from Australia ;D ;D ;D

Tim.

Have him look me up. I'll be all over on race days. I'm staying in Cabin H-6 in the Campgrounds. I talked to Mark McCray last night to find out what my jobs are there. I might be a Greeter, retrieve boat driver, selling raffle tickets, working the pits, general Gofer and pit man & wrench for my kid who is racing in "B" mono against 30 others so far.

Ron,

Let Cyslide do it. I'll be the emergency back up.

What city/state and lake is the race at?? What's the nearest major city to the race??

looks like you got it covered, so i'll just have to be one of those guys waitin' to hear if AB can break his own record or if someone else breaks it for him! if you can please tell us ahead of time when you'll be calling in.

i've got an idea to add to that too, you guys tell me whatcha think...... during the 'nats or just on the day when X hydro's running, we can have a chat session in Grim's chat right around the time when Ron'll be posting in, just to chat about what's happening there, maybe have a pool goin' of what the new record'll be if any, or any other Internats/general rc boating stuff that needs discussing.

yays, nays, or h**l no's??

Joe

Thanks for all of the offers. Steve Hauge volunteered to do it among others. He has a toll-free number with an answering machine so that I can leave him the info faster and he can transcribe it. I'm going to try to get a cell phone before I leave to make it easier for me to call in. Most of the days racing won't be done until after 6:00 PM Mi. time but I could also call in "Special Reports" at any time for the big news items. I can also call others too if necessary, I've got Rod's number already in my wallet and I've got Wade's number memorized finally.

Plan on seeing LOTS of pix when I get back home. If Tom can do it, maybe he can do a special section in the Pix area for them. I wouldn't be surprised if others have shots also like Grimmy. I don't know if the FMBC is doing anything on their site or not, I can let you all know if they do.

If Craig shows up, maybe we'll have to get him some Foster's to make him feel at home!

i do what ever wanted/required to help..... i could make steve a news poster so it will go on the main page if that's what's wanted ?

if ya send me a bunch of pictures it's a snap for me to make a thumbnail page

I can't speak for Craig (Eat my shorts racing) but I don't know any Aussies that drink Foster's when in Australia!!!! It's the beer you drink when you don't like the local brews while travelling OS!

In the words of Homer Simpson - mmmmmmmmm, beer.

Fosters........... EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWW

The Fosters in the US is actually made in Canada anyways... not that it would make much improvement. And some of those US beers... like making love in a canoe... @*$&ing close to water!!!

Yes I will be there somehow... although the boat shipping has hit a snag with Qantas removing the sponsorship (read no free freight) so the twin may be staying at home... :(

Rod, the race is in Milford, MI, about half way between Ann Arbor and Flint, NW of Detroit.

Tom, I can get the pix burned onto some CD's and send them to you to put on the ones that you like.

EMSR, the real beers around here are made at the Microbreweries. I usually drink the candy-ass Miller Lite.

I didn't know you guys would have electrics there ;D

Craig reports that he drives better with a hangover, so I am sure he will find something over there to his taste! :p

Hey Craig, what if you pull the twin to bits first? Much easier to pack in a smaller place.

Nitrocrazed racing: It seems I drive worse with a hangover.

Hangovers and 2 stroke engines don't mix :-X :-X

His name is RRRAAAAALLLPPPPHHH, man!

Ian,

The problem is the tub of the boats usually exceeds the normal baggage limitations. My 90 rigger just makes it.... so if you know how to disassemble the tub of my twin 90 effectively (and have it in one piece back at the race) let me know..

:)

EMS Racing no hacksaw required

What if you take the front sponsons off, take off the struts, rudder, canopy, engines and pipes. Would that be small enough and light enough then? :-

Nitrocrazed racing: I take my boats in a box that looks like a coffin....

Ian,

My single 90 tub of my old Stinger just made it dimension wise with all booms removed and rudder and strut removed. That means the twin has no chance. Will be talking to Qantas Freight this week to see what I can do.

EMS Racing How bout we just freight my trailer over???

Ian,

I got onto my usual contact at Qantas and they said they no longer provide the baggage exemptions for sporting equipment. Apparently due to the downturn in the aviation industry...

Another cutback... my Melbourne to Chicago direct service has been withdrawn... so now its via LA again..

BOO HISS!!!!
