Charles I will not be able to make the race, I'll be spending next Saturday in northern Virginia replacing the automatic transmission in the Accord at my brothers shop. Honda has known about them failing by the thousands because of faulty internals but won't step up and make it right. :angry:

That really sucks.
Thats what happened to my wifes old POS '02 Dodge Neon.
Chrys. corp new about the Trans. and didn't say anything to anyone.
2X dealer rebuild (under the 70k warranty)and the 3rd time they said they would not warranty it.
Couple others at work had them (neons) and the same happened to theirs as well.
But, anyways,,,,,,,,,, I will go ahead and get the Twin mono ready for the race then Charles.

Yeah it seriously pisses me off. Google "accord automatic transmission problems" and see what I mean. I used to think highly of Honda autos but after the Accord gets fixed and sold that's it for me. When I worked for Honda we had just started to see the trans failures here and there and when I left N. Va. to move down here our Accord was working perfectly. Had I known it was going to be such a widespread problem I would have had one of my service teams replace the trans while I still worked for them. Our Accord has been serviced better than "by the book" with only genuine Honda parts and even with having worked for them they wouldn't give me the time of day.
I hope you guys have fun next weekend, I'd rather be there than bustin' azz swapping out that trans. :angry:

don, when i worked at leesburg honda (2002-2005), we replaced literally hundreds of them. i'll bet we averaged 1 a day in the shop. v-6's were way worse than 4 cyl's. what year & model? i know honda would extend some help, but not much past 100K, & then only if you had it serviced at the dealer. not so much for proof of service, but more of a loyality deal. anything i can do to help, lmk. i go home every night from hagerstown, so i have acess to all my goodies. sounds like you'll be set, but ya never know.......sure sux, i'll see ya at the impba internats. guess i need to send you some $ for the base since you won't be at the pond.

V-6 2 door coupe, started acting up just over 100k. I've exhausted all options and have a trans coming for it this week.

ok thanks chilli, his tunnel boat motor threw a rod when trying to start it up saturday.

possible showers mid day but high of 73 which is ok not too hot . If it rains it will drop 10 degrees for sure.
