Great race to cap off the season. Thanks to everyone who made this race happen. I'll post the results and some pictures on the D12 web site once I get the info.

Well Monday's here & it's back to the grind but I did have a pretty good time this weekend and did fairly well. I will admit on the drive up I found myself in some seriously hard rain wondering what the %#@& I was thinking going to run boats in that crap. But about 10 minutes after I crossed the Maryland the rain just stopped and the 20+mph winds they had forecast all week for Friday never materialized. The park people did a real nice job cutting back all the cattails and other waterborne plant life along the back straight and all around the right side which really opened things up, something I don't remember them ever doing before. The water level did not pose as big a problem as feared & was quite raceable but was still lower than I'd like to see from a safety standpoint as by Sunday the hill edge was very slick from people stepping in at the water's edge and tracking mud back up onto the edge of the bank. The guys from the Baltimore club worked very hard to put on a good show but with a very limited number of club members found themselves shorthanded and it showed at times. I chatted with a couple of the club officers on Sunday & mentioned they should focus on finding some new active club members in the off season to ease the workload to which they agreed. All in all we had a good time with some real hard racing, some of the most entertaining heats being the Jersey Skiffs. I'm real tempted to build one of them this winter as they look like a blast to drive going around the turns on their sides like the real things. Had fun for sure & the extra bonus entertainment from the Ondrea & Ivan show was better than Comedy Central. Thanks to all who made it a fun weekend. B)

Please post the race results on this thread (or a link to them) when you can. Please include all places (past 3rd pleace) so we can calculate our district standings. Thanks, James

When they have been added to the spread sheet, checked & approved they will be uploaded to the D12 website. Chill it's been less than 24 hours...................

As Don said, once the spreadsheet is updated, which can't happen until I get the info from the Baltimore club, who are right now hopefully enjoying a few minutes of much deserved rest, and approved, to make sure there were no typos, I will post them on the web site. The same level of detail as has been included for every other race will be included. All this will be published on the high points page at D12 site: http://www.impba12.com/high_points.html

A note for anyone who has not taken the time to look at the results before, the points you receive at the race are not what is used for district points. Instead, you get points based on your overall position in that class at the race. In other words, first place for the weekend gets 400, second gets 300, etc.

Another note, I have been asked to post results for non-high points classes. When I'm going through the spreadsheet I'll try to make time to add an additional page for this.

Yup, here it is Thursday and I am still nursing the sore shin that I got from sliding into the pier on Sunday. Had a great time, finished in the top 3 in 3 of the 6 classes that I ran. Blew up the motor in my sport hydro (not the ponds fault, the rod gave up in it!). All in all I think I had a good "comeback" year, looking forward to the 2009 season and hopefully will do even better!!! I plan on running some of the Old Dominion club races as well next year to hone my skills even better!!

Thanks for a great season Dist 12,

John
