Hydro dipped mono

This mono was hydro dipped. Not worried a boat the flames the wrong way as it is a trial to see if the 2K top coat will stand up to the nitro and solvents. May have to top coat with Endura.

Hmmmm are they ingredients for a special fuel blend haha..Acetone will likely eat it ,wouldn't take the chance.

Acetone and lacquer thinner or brake fuid does not touch Endura.

Endura is just another of brand of 2k ,it is a good product from reports..

Why your concern with brake fluid and acetone?Can use acetone to clean up paint etc but if you are trying to clean a finished boat hull that's been clear coated with 2k clear ,I would use something not as strong like denatured alcohol.

What is hydro dipping?

It isn a graphic that floats on water and the part is dipped into it and it conforms to the part. Lots of different designs available. Lots of wheels are being done, gun stocks dashboard parts and trim. Watch the video or goggle it.

Ok thanks Brad. What your explaining sounds similar to the decals on plastic model cars in the 70s that were on a sheet and you put them in water then stick them in place, I will google it

It's far more than that as you will see. I am having another boat done for the daughterinlaw that has Wonder Woman graphic on it with a purple base coat. will post pics when I get it back.

The product is as tough as nails when done properly. After it's applied its then covered with a clear-coat in gloss or flat so that protects the dip. It's not thin either like decals.

just a FYI for all you young bucks....Hydro dipping is not anything new...back in the 1960's i was doing 

a what is considered "hydro dipping" ....oil based paint in water, then dip your item in and allow to dry,

then we played with spray paint in water, same type of system, then  we got fancy because of the spray can..

todays hydro dipping is a lot fancier because of the computer designed film sheet, that has an actual image, i never had that option..

guitars are and were a big deal to hydro dip, never the same pattern , have fun and Brad, the boats are awesome....
