We just got orders today to go to NJ and NY to aid in the restoration of internet and phone lines. Managers said we will be up there at least 2-3 weeks. Looks like my crew is heading for jersey shore on friday.

You might be in for a surprise when you get there. Virginia Dominion Power sent EIGHTY trucks to New Jersey and New York to help and were TURNED AWAY! Even though most were union (Virginia unions are voluntary) some were not so they turned ALL of them back. Same thing happened to crews from Kentucky and Louisiana. Yup that really does alot for our friends in Jersey and New York who STILL have no power. :angry:

this morning people seeking help at some fema centers in ny & nj were turned away! sign on doors said "closed due to weather"!!!!!!

Not even close, this BS started well over a week ago!!! Besides those line crews are trained to work in the nastiest of conditions, they're out there when everyone else is being told to stay indoors. I have great respect for those people.

It's all good! Those lineman are some tough people, the stuff they go through to earn a living separates the men from the boys in a hurry.
