I've tried calling ray, goes striaght to voice mail......nails, have you heard from him? for that matter, hope you're ok also!

Tried to call Ray's cell phone this morning, left a message saying I know he's probably got his hands full but to please check in with one of us just to let us know he's ok.

Same thing i did, don. nothing yet, how 'bout you?
Nope, nothing yet on my end either, I really hope one of us hears from him soon. Union Beach is about 1 mile from Raritan Bay which roughly a 5 mile wide stretch of water between him and Staten Island. Reading a little over 1/2 way down this news article I just found doing a search has me deeply concerned-http://www.nj.com/ne...ves_nj_but.html

That article & the fact that ray usually sends the family away & stays to watch the house has me worried.......praying it's just communications issues!

Glad to hear Hammer is ok, good news. Foley, was watching the news this am and it looked like a war zone- complete city blocks GONE .....

Is Ray functional, Don?.. Ray?... there are more guys east, that need roll call, Tunnelbill?... others?... storm was a kick in the sack....... keep us posted if you can get on.... thanks Mike

Talked with Hammer,

He and his faimly are safe. Doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Nails.

Thanks for the info Don and Bob! Been thinking about Ray and other fellow boaters and family in the storm track. Our prayers are with them.

We just got orders today to go to NJ and NY to aid in the restoration of internet and phone lines. Managers said we will be up there at least 2-3 weeks. Looks like my crew is heading for jersey shore on friday.

You might be in for a surprise when you get there. Virginia Dominion Power sent EIGHTY fully crewed trucks to New Jersey and New York to help and were TURNED AWAY! Even though most were union (Virginia unions are voluntary) some were not so they turned ALL 80 of them back. Same thing happened to crews from Kentucky and Louisiana. Yup that really does alot for our friends in Jersey and New York who STILL have no power.
