We got there just in time to watch the wind blow all day...I guess that is part of the game.

Those twin records wont stand for too long.

Larry
You might be surprised they may stand for a little while. We made that pass the first time we put the boat into the water. The left motor was not even broke in yet. The boat was running a little off because of this and as the day went on the boat got a little faster. This was heat racing setup and I did have a set of props to go fast with but we could not keep the radio box lids taped down. As the water was so rough the the hull was twisting and kept popping the tape lose and letting water into the radio box. Because of this they just gave up on trying to set the oval and to try to up the straight away time.

Wow, for a stock 3.5 outboard-60 mph

I got some work to do to try and get close

Ronald.

Eric Betty who just started model boating last year. Quoted from Bill Zuber

Bill,

That was October of 2005.

Erics accomplishmenats as model boater.

1 st record trial- sets record

1 st race same boat in 2 classes 1st in sport and finished 2nd in mod by 4 points

2 nd record trial- breaks own record

3 rd record trial- breaks own record again

4 th record trial- breaks own record again

Carl, I think you could use this as one great advertisement. New boater breaks record 4 times. this must say something for the Lynx.

Now for the bad part. There is no where to go but down from here

Rod, By the way this record was set with a new boat, new motor, and a different propeller. It can be duplicated and i guess I do not have to tell you about those 500 more trips to Huntsville again do I?LOL

Dave Roach if you new how close to out of the box Erics motors are you would not believe it.

Eric, Congrats on great start (6 months) on model boating.

Congrats to all.

Can't wait for the next time trials. I believe the next sport20 record will be over 65mph and the next gas sport hydro record will be over 95mph by either Blazer Marine or Seaducer. Love the competition!!!

Eric...your record is IMPRESSIVE!!!! See you in October!

Brian

WOOHOO!!!! Nothing like stepping up to the plate, lol.

Paul.

I'm sure they will it should be pretty easy since I just remembered the class was new this year and open for records Friday night. I just pulled the hull off the shelf and charged it at the lake and made a quick run without even setting the needle just to get the 1st records. I wanted to give all of the out of towners more time on the water. I figured it would increase interest in the class if the record was a soft one. I'm sur ethere will be many sport 20 at the upcoming event in Flint. Good luck to all.

Oh by the way, we had the DB meter out and even the twins when measured at 50 feet from the waters edge between buoy 6 and the start line on the "A" scale fast response were running right at or below 92dbs everything else was way under 92 db.

That's good Allen, I guess we won't have to run mufflers (IMPBA) anymore.

Your right Jose but i would not go to a race thinking i was at 91 db a small glitch and your a spectator. Looks like everyone will need a db meter
