The gas classes were dropped this year for 2 reasons:

1st being that the Gas Nats is the following weekend and most Gas racers would not enter a race the weekend before a National event.

2nd is that for the last 3 years we have begged pleaded and offered Gas Classes and had very little response/attendance for the gas classes.

If you contact one of the CD's on the flyer and you have at least 3 entries I'm sure they would offer the gas class.

If the person really wants to race he can also enter in any of the 'F' classes that his hull fits into as long as his engine isn't any bigger than 1.8 cu.in. max.specification for the "F" engine class. If there is enough interest this year in the gas classes I'm sure they would be offered for our fall race in October.

If you contact one of the CD's and indicate your interest in the gas classes, they will proceed with the gas classes.

The event planner on the IMPBA Web pages say OPEN GAS MONO, OPEN GAS CAT for the MAY race.

If ther eis enough interest/entries the CD's stated they would run any class that is not listed. As long as the entries are submitted early enough to obtain the trophies.

Mark Ward from Knoxville, TN wants to run his GASSER if they open the category.

Exactly............And I was going to bring mine so he would have someone to run with.

BUT in gas class......................NOT F-MONO!!!!!

Get another couple entries and they will hace the class.
I am working on it... We (Huff Racing) really wanted to get over there @ least once this year (probably in May) to show our support for the guys in District 5 that run @ AMB events. I have already spoken w/ Norman Morton and the ball is in motion. My family alone brings enough boats for Gas Mono and Crackerbox to make. Norman was very open to the idea... He should know by this weekend if his Grandson Cole can make it or not...

If Huff Racing and Morton Men can make it happen we may be able to convince Bo Romano to come over with us. Throw Big Chuck in the mix and we would have @ least:

6 Gas Monos

5 Gas Crackerboxes

5 Gas Cats

Heck, I even have a 20 mono and a 60 mono. They aren't too fast, but I might as well bring those too...

I can't promise anything, but I am initiating the conversation... I will keep you posted.

Later,

Lamar

Allright there's still time to revise the flyer and advertise the Gas categories. If they did it for the Internats (TH) surely you can do for Huntsville.

sounds to me like we are going to have some of our own..THUNDER..in huntsville

GO,GO,GASSERS!!!!!!!!!

Hi Guys,

I'm in for open mono and open cat, keep in mind both classes have to be OPEN. I run FE boats. :D

Hey guys IM one of the CD'S for the Huntsville races. We will be glad to run gas cleasses and even off shore or open off shore. IM glad to see there is intrest in bringing gas boats to Huntsville. I have really been surprised our last few races that we have had few to none in the gas classes at our races with the class growing so much. anyone wanting to run gas is welcome. feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about classes or the race in general. I don't read the boards much anymore so please e mail me with you questions or coments. You can reach me at [email protected]. also help us spread the word about the gas classes at Huntsville.

Thanks Bob

Okay you gas guys. I need some input. What gas classes should we offer at the Rocket City Classic. IM going to add gas classes to the flyer. Should I just offer open gas mono & open gas cat. I don't mind offering individual gas classes but IM wondering if we will have enough boats to make them. Please let me know how many of you think you will make the race. Also we can offer cracker box and off shore.

Thanks Bob CD
