Hobart Masters race

I'm kind of surprised that there hasn't been any threads on the upcoming race yet. Nothing about who's going, what cool prizes are being handed out this year or just smack talking.

Right now I'm just trying to figure out where to stay while there. The motels listed on the flier are in Merrillville, is there anything closer even if I can't use the Indy Masters discount? How hard is it to get to Merrillville from the race site?

Not far to the Red Roof in Merrillville 15 minutes at the most southout of Hobart think it is on us30.

Yea, who is really showing up for this race? Namba guys comming too?

I mjust used Mapquest to find the route from the race site to the motels, Red Roof Inn is the cheapest listed on the flier. A Comfort Suites was noted on the map but the price is up with Hilton Garden and Raddison but was very low rated. I don't need much, just a place for Eric and I to crash at for 3 nights.

No smack talking from me, I just want to be able to drive the boats in after a heat and I'll be happy.

I'm rolling in Thursday so that hopefully I can get a decent spot to park my trailer. If someone needs a place to set up at under a canopy I should have a little room. My trailer is set up for AC and DC power in case somebody needs a hook-up for a soldering gun, charger or a Dremel.

Great those are my classes boats no c hydro though.

You have a MTO s40-2?

Red Roof is the place most boaters will stay.

Cool Ihave a Karleson style round nose been racing that, but I will bring my US1 SuperSport45 hydro to see if it is a masters champ.

I second some good sport tunnel racing. Bring on the Sport Tunnel water. I think I got mine trimmed and turning @ full speed now. I won't me the fastest, but I hope I can have some good battles.

I'll be looking for some volunteers to run on board cameras!

I have only seen pictures of your new round nose hull, but I know that it is first class all the way around! It has to be, "ITS A ROUND NOSE" Don't know if I have anything for you IMPBA guys :lol: but will give it my best shot and have FUN FUN FUN!!!!

Hobart is coming,almost the whole month of August is test n tune for me. Sport Tunnel OH YES Sport 40 mmmmm Thunder Boat now this will be a blast. Can I get the Mayor to run mine around the course a few laps? Im sure the town is whispering when will the boats be back.............

Mike, from what I heard last year is that the Mayor and chief of police are both going to have boats entered this year. The police chief wanted an 1/8 scale hydro really bad, I don't know what the mayor wants.

I have both maybe I can let them race,my scale is on its last leg and another is close to being water ready

You could let Stu or someone else know about this. It seems like somebody was going to throw a Miss Bud together for the top cop.

I don't know if he got any work done while the race was going on, he spent a lot of time down at the lake!

red roof is good.plenty of food close by.close to lake. if you get there on thursday pm, there won't be any place to park a trailer. we got the tail end last year.

b hydro is gonna be better than ever!
