Really looking forward to the day this becomes a 2.4gig ONLY race.. And it will happen.. just a matter of time. Just for the sake of argument.. How many are signed up on mhz and really racing gig-hz?

Grim

Paul,

In the past couple years it was one bottle "shared"! ^_^ But trying to keep up with all of the fast twin drivers that will be there, means that I will need the "extra" one for moral support!!! :D

Don :)

Is that 1 bottle per day?

I don't like to be thirsty.

Well, Gary Preusse will probably switch to 2.4 when hell freezes over. And, Hughes needs to sell 10,000 more turn fins before considering leaving 75 mhz.

The two largest RC events in the nation are all 2.4 (ONLY).. but have an area (True) for "Vintage" systems. lol. Speak to other top pilots and they will tell you the same thing. MHzs don't always have a positive lock. You can feel the system unhook from time to time and heli pilots use to feel it more then most... Greg H can tell you storys too. Anyway.. the deal with RC boating is not so much the lock un-lock its the race blocking during sign up. RC racing events "must" take into account channel numbers to avoid conflicts. Conflicts in some cases that don't exist. LETS RACE! Grim

There are people who regularly sign up on mhz but run 2.4 so that they don't have to race against their buddies and/or can pit for each other (i.e. they sign up on the same "frequency"). I kinda understand the reasoning but don't necessarily agree with it.........

Until such time that 75MEG becomes illegal, I will probably continue to run it.

I just can't justify the expense of changing over, when I have good operational radio's/receivers.

But I do agree with the intent of Mike's post,,, if you enter on 75MEG,,, you should race on 75MEG. No playing games!!!

How do you "police" this issue, I don't know

This has already been a Issue at several Large races this year............. Surprising that a club allows a boater to sign up on a MHz freq channel & the boater has no intentions of being on that SIGN UP channel all weekend......?

I honestly believe this is a real integrity issue if someone does this. I do not know of anyone YET that is doing this at any of the CMB races, including the upcoming Fall Nats in October. If anyone does know of such a situation, e mail me at [email protected] and give me the details. I will check it out and if found to be accurate, the frequencies will be changed before the race heats are set up. The integrity of the hobby and sport must be paramount.

And another thing will be done at the Fall Nats just like we did at the 2012 Internats. Every boat will be checked in and marked in a manner that will prevent a replacement boat from being used later in the race.

Good call John .

Wow, such a great turnout from people travelling from far away!

If you would like fuel delivered to the race site, Alan Elzer will be supplying it again just as last year. Please see Mfg Forum on this site for more info.

We found out this last weekend something that will put a limit on how many drivers we can host. Someone planted more trees in the set up area. We are going to have to limit the drivers to 100 now. This morning, we have 80 registered. Once we hit 100, entries will be shut down and "wait list" started. Also, please write your shirt size on the entry form. Many have come in with no notation. If you know you forgot, email your size to me at [email protected].

Thanks,

Stu

No Gas Sport Hydro offered yet there is Gas Jersey Skiff offered? What's up with that? 75 mph of action vs. 50 mph of ho-hum.
That's what open gas is for. :)
... and OPEN MONO or OPEN GAS isn't for Jersey Skiff? (shrugging shoulders)

Why a totally separate class for Skiff? It's not like Skiff is a popular class like T-Boat or Sport Hydro is.

Maybe next year :)
