Yeah, he refered to that rigger as the nicest rigger he ever saw.....musn't have been to the pond in about 45 years....LOL

The 75 mph is a bit of a stretch to!

The boat is a Gator from Don Pinkert in Florida. It should be from about 1978 - 1981. I have a 40 Gator from 1979 and it was a good heat racing boat at that time.

The rear sponsons are "adjustable", not the front sponsons.

It would do about 60 miles plus minus with an Octure 1460 prop and a good set up OPS 40/45 motor. Not really comparable with the new breed of riggers. B)

Stein

Well yea and this'DUAL 7.5 K&B OUTRIGGER TUNNEL HULL HYDROPLANE CMB'glides across the water.I've never heard any boater describe his bad (expletive deleated) boat as gliding any where...

Built a 40 gator round about '78 or so after reading an Ackerman article about it in Flying Models. K&B 6.5 on a mini pipe and a 1460, probably ran mid 60's, sure felt faster back then!

 Or is it a Hydrosports "Warpdrive" rigger ? Those fat flat sponson supports are an odd arangment. Scott

If I remember right there was a square maple sponson mount that went through the hull then smaller pieces were glued on and the whole thing sanded like a wedge for the needed downforce
