The best Coupling material I have ever used is available from McMaster Carr p/n 3184K3 (3/4" I.D) or 3184K4 (5/8" I.D).

At current my header just sits inside the pipe in my 45
My 21 i needed to make up a spacer so there was no gap between the header and the tunned pipe and this stopped any burning of the header seal pipe where there was not solid material.

Im just getting the 45 pipe way to hot for some reason.

Will look closer at the situation and get to the bottom of it.

Dave 45 headers are a little strange on size. I have normally cut a piece of 60 ex header tubing off & pushed it onto the 45 header tube. This will give you a 3/4 OD size on the 45 header now & you can run the next size bigger / thicker coupler 3/4. we normally run 60 size pipes on 45 engines & they already are approx 3/4 in size. jw
