Graupner Z drive

Hi all, I am thinking of building a cruser, about 950mm long and running a twin z drive with the 700 motor. Electric is all new to me so I need help. I am new to electrics so I need alot of help. Here is a link to the drive unit it's in NZ what do you recon. It's the one at the bottom of the page.

for a scale type boat they should be fine, I personally haven't run them, but have seen them run in others boats, they seem to do fine, I was looking at the plans it seems the transom is formed into a shallow vee I assume your going to make a straight portion to mount these on? these motors generally do well on 12-14 cells ( for scale stay with 12) and you could also do very well with a set of lipos, for scale even some of the lower c rated cells should give you unheard of run times, this would be a 4s pack . believe it or not you could probably get away with 2 proboat controllers I have seen them at offshore for around 30 bucks each, you will probably need to ensure a low voltage cutoff though ( for the lipos)

this said this is a lot of motors and batteries for a 36" boat though... they also make this unit for 540 size motors which might be more appropriate... I like all kinds of boats so please keep me posted... hope it helps...
