Just an FYI...the "1/3 mile" is for two laps, a standard nitro race is ONE mile in length...the 1/4 mile course, same thing, 8 laps = one mile
I know I am a little slow but what is the acctuall distance covered?

Paul,

I predict that you all will do just fine, even with the longer than FE distance. I've found that the larger straights of the IMPBA course allow a big FE boat to really wind-out and run freely. Therefore, you'll experience longer runtimes and less heat than you'd experience running the smaller and tighter NAMBA Electric oval. Do great, "represent", and keep us all posted on how it's going. Sorry I couldn't make it.

I want to thank Paul and Brooks for attending the 2005 Internats by attending they have generated lots of interest in the FE racing and equipment. They did pretty good for frist time Internats attendees. I hope they had as much fun as the rest of the contestants did.

After watching the boats run and racing an FE race just weeks ago.. i can not imagine those boats on a smaller course.

Big boats.. Big course.... heck make it a 18 cell and more full course requirement.

Also i must say.. the FE boats at the Internats were flying..

Great job Paul and Kelly..

Congrats to IMPBA for allowing this to happen.

Congrats to IMPBA for allowing this to happen
I will second that.. Thanks IMPBA for allowing us electric guys to race.. what a blast

Grim it was great to finally be able to meet you and BS a bit.

Zuber Thank you for allowing us to race also

Thanks again everyone..

I think it is worth mentioning that for the first time ever, an electric boat beat a nitro boat in a heat race. In round 5, Kelly's boat finished the heat and the nitro boat quit during mill time. Hey, I won two heats at Jackson when I was the only boat running and I didn't appologize for taking the 400 points!!!

If you want to see Paul's boats go really fast, check them out as he blows past you on I 57 in his yellow Dodge "Rumble Bee" with a "Hemi!!" Cool truck, but I still like my SLT with the 4.7.

Hey Guys,

What a blast!! I'm HOOKED. Man, the challange of running on that big course against those nitro and gas boats really has me pumped. I can't wait till the next time I'm able to toss in with you guys.

Jerry, did I "blow by" you on 57? lol, I think I would have remembered that one.

Many thanks to Ernie, Bill and the IMPBA crew for allowing it to happen. This is the kind of thing that grows the sport for everyone.

Best regards,

Paul.

This was our intent. You will notice more IMPBA races offering some FE classes along with the nitro and gas classes. Hosting races is a business of sorts and if a club has customers wishing to run FE boats offer it. It's still entry money. Plus it helps to promote the model boating hobby in all aspects which is what we all should be doing. Thank you to Paul and Brooks for coming out and playing.
