what is a "PB battery 2V." and how do you hook it up?
This is a 2V alarm system battery that comes in various sizes, such as a C or D sized cell. They cost about $8-9 at Batteries Plus or similar stores. Simply connect a spring or twist on lock glow ignitor from Dubro, etc. Put terminal connectors on the end of the wire and connect to the battery terminals. Charge using a standard 1.5V glow plug charger and it will charge to about 2.1V. Will start an engine balky or slightly flooded and not blow the plug. The battery lasts about 2-4 years depending on use and I use mine (C sized) a LOT. Cost is about $15-19 for the entire set up. If you use the OD plugs do not use the twist lock ignitor, it will not fit over the OD plugs as they are wider than the McCoy's, NR, Rossi, etc.

RC Cats and Eric Canto's Glow Beast. I've had the RC Cats for a few years and they are great. I just got the Glow Beast and it is very impressive.

Just got my rcats unit after a recent purchase of a cheaper igniter that turned out to be a waste of time and money. Greg R ended up starting my engine with his rcats unit and I was sold!!! Thanks for that Greg!!! Next upgrade will be my 25 year old starter :)

Jerry,

Did a search and Amazon has them for $6.83 for a D sized cell. Search for Hawker Cyclon, item # 0810-0004, and it should come up. They are a 2V 2.5 AH battery.

Thanks John

I had one on my list for a while and bloody forgot all about them until I noted steve fox had a unit , so that's what inspired me to just get one. you don't have a show if you got no glow.

that is what I bought Mike,.. of course I bought it at my local rip off store and paid I think $8 more.. but I had it in my hot little hand in 5 min..

"Hot Shot 2 Super" for me, been using it for about 4yrs. now and never missed a lick. But I do keep a back up HS2 Standard in the tool box Just In Case.

Will those HotShot2's fit on the O'Donnell and Novarossi turbo plugs OK? Been looking for something without the spring lock as a spare after having a spring lock one disintegrate during our nationals.

I make my own.

Micro panel , life battery , plug clip all fit nicely in a one inch micrometer case .

life battery lasts forever without a charge , reliable and cheap .
