My ignitor took a dump on me,.. it was one of those new style with the plug in the back,.. different kind of battery I think.. anyway.. It was plugged into my power strip and my heat gun flipped the fuse on it a few times. next thing I notice is the charger is not working anymore..

So what are you guys using.. that one lasted a year with very little use.. I've had others last 5 years.. or more..

what do you recommend?

that is exactly it..I think it's more than that. When I plug into the wall, the light doesn't come on anymore. I may buy another one just like it,. and have 2 ignitors and one charger..

I use a dubro it has worked for four years no prob.and its cheap.http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD702&P=7 20 bucks isn't bad.

If you open up the bad glow starter you will find the battery tab came apart, I had 2 of them do that. Clean off the glue that they used to attach the tab and solder it. You can also find batteries that will work as a replacement.

I opened up the charger and could not find a bad connection. Nothing loose. I left it on the charger overnight just in case. I tried it again just for kicks. Glows like mad. Still no led lights. The led circuit must have gone bad. Works fine it seems now. Now I have a backup just in case. If I can just get to the pond

2ND the hotshot, ive tried them all and keep coming back. I can get 2-3 years outta one then toss it and go again. Nothing else has held up including the rcats

Tried the Rcats and didn't like it at all. Been burned and seen others burned by the auto shut-off and the face plate cracks. Went the simplicity route and never looked back. Two 1700Nimh hooked in parallel to a Dubro Kwik-Klip. Cheap and reliable. Always been partial to cool quality stuff but sometimes it pays to keep it simple. Think I paid less than $25.00 and still using the same piece for over 4 years now. Just another option.
