Nice Cat you've got there! I was thinking last night that we possibly could do something like that after the Hammerhead project.

Why not make a couple of upsized Hammer-Cut sponsons and stick a wider center section between them? : :)

Lookin good Eric!

Hi Eric,

This is a scratch built rigger, but we have built six to seven of them for "one make race".

Here is some other boats we build.

I only have some template on paper, let me find out and may scan for you.

Cheers

Chester

Chester, great pics!!!

Tom and I had fun with the design, if my memory serves me, we did it in about 3 days via email's. Glad it worked out well for you, I really enjoyed runnin mine,

Gene ;D

Nice rigger, and paint job too....

that cat looks very similar to Jay Turners "quickie cat" from a while ago in RCBM [not that im saying you copied it, he never published plans to it as far as i know! :) ], same kind of really wide design....

does it have wedges on the sponson bottoms?

Matt and I are taking another attempt at making a .18 nitro-powered xs cat, not sure if we'll use the wedges or not- is it true that wedges make a cat illegal for offshore?

Joe

Don,

That would be really easy for me to draw up now, considering i have them in my computer!!!! it would be up to Hammer if he wanted to give it a try! ;D

The Cat is of my own design. It is based on a small electric speed 400 boat I did a while back. If you look at the sponson profile It sort of resembles an inboard tunnel more that it does a cat. The sponsons only has 4 sides. Most cats have a 5-sided sponson.

As promised, more pics.

This is the orginal "Quicksilver" rigger, after repair and repaint.

wow chester you sure have a bunch of them! what are you using for tuned pipes? some look like they might be .21 size?

Man, now everybody is comming out of the closet with a .12 rigger!

I would be very interested in a copy of the scan for this boat.

Why did you call them SAW boats, they seem to be rigged up for oval competion?

That step just ahead of the rear sponsons looks real interesting. Would this have the same effect as a sloping rear tub?

The orig Gillmanator design was for SAW, but with a few additions it can run Oval also:

Gene ;D

Chester - my girlfriend was looking over my shoulder and saw the pic of the purple rigger and said "That is SOOOOO cute! I want one."

Thanks, Dude! ;D
