For those who like to use the electric pumps.

I have found that the problem with most of them is the crapply little press on plastic link between the motor and the pump fails.

I picked up a new cheap pump, tore it apart and made a new link between the motor and pump. I have only used it this year but I feel pretty good about it.

I tried the washer pump. I got several of the VDO's for Mercedes. If you try to use the kind that mount in the washer tank they don't work.

I would be interested to know what the VDO pumps look like that others have used.

yes, that's what happened to my electric. what did you use to fix it?

ok, after a closer look, seems like you could just solder a piece of metal tube from the motor shaft directly to the pump shaft. i'm sure there is a reason why they use those two little plastic wheel/u-joint things though, maybe just to ease factory assembly ??? they are just press fit on the shafts and one was just free spinning on the pump shaft side without turning the pump.

I use the Slimline electric pump that goes on the fuel jug,but i have a six shooter as a backup in the tool box. The slimline runs on 12 v battery and connects to your power panel in the field box. For 4 yrs i have never had any trouble with them, but definitely buy a Six shooter as a backup. Don't let a pump ruin your day at the lake!!!
