hi all i am looking for answers here if anything.. i recently posted to a ad that i would buy the person's item.. then the old story .well someone sent me a pm before you did.. as a member of the "dock" as well i like the new policy to keep backdoor deals from happening..no pm's ..post here and it is set and no arguements. what do you all think? i had this happen on a good deal for some plugs late winter early spring..1 min after i seen it come up i pm'ed first and then posted first i would take them.. then no response from the seller then a "buddy" of his pm'ed him "just before" i did and he gets them.. kin of agrivating if you ask me, why not just make it a post only section to keep the arguements down, if you post first you get it.. if you change your mind then next post in line and so on.. it just happened agian a little while ago and while im not mad im a tad bit frustrated. what do you all say has the same happened to you guys?

Terry, hasen't happened to me here, I really don't buy as much stuff as you do, wish I could, don't get me wrong!!!

But yes, it would TORQ me off pretty bad.

I will say, when I do list stuff for sale, I put in it "please reply here, no PM's" That way, my reputation does not come into question as playing favorites.

So, my opinion, it should be whom ever posts, IN THE POST, first, I'll take it. That way it's right there for all to see who was first

Terry, I agree with you 100%.

All inquiries should be out in the open, no PM's or e-mails. After the item(s) has/have been sold then they can finish business in private.

Any member selling (or buying for that matter especially on high-dollar items) should have "X" amount of postings. We've already seen a situation this week from a low posting count member allegedly not shipping said for sale item.

State in the ad acceptable forms of payment and limitations if any to where they will ship, i.e, continental US only, international, etc.

Let members know if you do have it for sale on another forum site or some place like eBay.

It appears that Jim's is going through some things in their FS/T/W forums. One ongoing complaint over there which I haven't seen here is one imfamous Sniper, a dealer, which jumps in on ongoing deals. I won't mention his name as those that have been members of Jim's for any amount of time know who I'm typing about.

They are also requiring pictures of any item for sale, even if it's in a sealed box. Yeah, it may sound stupid at first but then again it kind of shows that the person does indeed have the item(s).

i agree guys i am kinda frustrated if you look in the for sale area i posted on a pipe and well you know the story, it is nothing agianst the person selling it AT ALL, just using that as a example of the deals and pm back door tactics.. i hate it but i lose agian and maybe someday ill get one of them pipes i am seeking..lol , i jsut made the post as i am frustrated and want to know who else this has happened to. thank you and keep it coming.

Pictures is a must with the add.!!! I got burn from a regular seller here ones for a engine, I asked for pics and I was told.... you need to make your mind ASAP because I have other buyers pm me

and us a fool I said I'll take it :angry: he uses this line regularly, if some one tell you that stay away there up to no good.

If I'm selling something and 5 guys want it should it go to the first guy or the guy i have been friends with for 15 years????? as it is mine to sell.

absolutly i have and i am not saying i have not, but when i have sold "as i will never do agian" using pm's i have been fair about it, heck we have all done it, it just seems some of the time it is like a bait out there to see if people are intrested and then ..oops my buddy pm'ed me first so he gets it, without a timestamp or someway to prove it , it makes it difficult, this needs to be adressed and that way there are no arguements ..when you are buying like don , me and others you would like to have something and get a fair shot at it, that is all i am asking not trying to be a jerk and make people mad.. if it setup that way and aa deal is there in writing then take it to pm to discuss payment or paypal addy , email whatever get their number however you all do business and yes i am a fan of pics as well... and please guys with the vs-1 trade please take that to pm so we dont clutter this thread with personal attacks , it was not posted to do so, thanks .. and yes i have been guilty of the same deal of buying off pm's as when i arrived here it was customary..no longer though , so if i lose a sale or buy then i guess it was not meant to be, thanks guys for the input and keep it coming.
