Filling Holes In Transom

What is the best way to fill unwanted drill holes in the transom of a mono?

okay jk jk,

take some epoxy and mix in baby powder, fill the hole, and cover each side of the hole with the backside of scotch tape [non-sticky side] by cutting 2 peices of tape about 2" long, and sticking another peice of tape, sticky side to sticky side about 1/2" long in the middle of the larger peice- you now have 2 peices of tape which you can cover the hole with and the part of the tape that is touching the hole will be non-sticky [because it'll be the backside of the smaller peice]. this is incredibly strong, watertight, and is milky-white colored [im pretty sure you can paint it].

hope that wasnt too confusing, i know there are other ways but give that one a shot if you want it's simple cheap and effective.

If the gels not poped too bad I have used Kitty Wiskers (bondo with strands of chopped up fiberglass) Push it in from the inside till it bumps out the hole, let set and hit it with some 180 on a sanding block and repaint if you like,

That's easy. Take a piece of wood dowel rod & cut into sections just slightly thicker than transom. Drill out unwanted holes just ever so slightly smaller than the dowel size you are using (like a 1/64th smaller). Put a drop or two of CA on the end of the dowel & tap them into each hole just flush with the inside of transom. Use a single edge razor blade & cut off flush with outside of transom & put a drop of thin CA on the cut end to seal it. The biggest advantage is you can drill thru this repair later if you need to like if you went to different hardware. With epoxy if you need to drill in it the epoxy "plug" winds up falling out. :unsure:
