Just a little more about Dumas Sk boat kits, they where patterned after the SK Hallett.
That may be the answer. I read it in the instructions, I thought someone had told me that. Thanks for the info.

Now for Flatbottom bubble deck V drive boats, was said to be built for pleasure ( river runner, skiing),
Drag boat, and circle track racing.
I have read that if the engine was driven from the Flywheel it was made the drag, ski, pleasure.
If it was driven from the crank damper then it was design for circle /oval racing. But remember I'm no expertView attachment 288734

Ask your uncle if he remembers the boat builder in Costa Mesa. They had a full size boat on a pedestal in front of the building. It was a very small operation. The boat was a jet very sharp looking. I am very sure it was Horizon.
I've got a 1968 Passat built in Michigan it's the exact boat as the SK Daddle . these boats are not a flat bottom there actually a semi v hull and the SK stands for ski and were used by ski teams for there power and little wake .. This is a picture of my SK Daddle I added the top pieces to it and I'm going to put a side rub rail on it also .. Like I said it's the exact same hull I'm using my Passat as a guide to build it because the instructions are horrible

^^^ Beautiful guys, thanks for sharing. Yeah, there were clones of the Hallet's and Sanger everywhere and a few original's fashioned after them.

I had a Dumas SK Daddle 20 and just don't remember the transom as being that low profile. Maybe just some brain cells dormant!

And yeah Ken, they have some V in the bottom and rocker in the chines and keel, and are anything but flat. There were a few out there that were pretty flat and were referred to as "Barn Doors". In the drag circles they had basically 4 classes, outboard, jet, SK's which they referred to "Flat Bottoms" and the hydroplanes.

They still refer to them a flat bottoms or just "flats" and they are the Hondo designed style of dual tunnel or runner boats.
