I'm running an OPS .67 with a Mac pipe on a Aeromarine Cat.

Whats the best way to secure a new (pressure) fitting into a pipe.

I have both the Dubro 8-32 and 10-32 Pressure fittings.

Thanks

AL

The best way is to throw the Dubro ones away and order one from Aeromarine, Rossi Sales or Tidewater. You want the one that is pulled through from inside the pipe and captured with a nut on the outside. make sure to Loctite it in place.

The dubro ones work fine , drill and tap the pipe at the largest diameter , clean with acetone and red loctite in place . The hose routing is not always as neat but they work excellent , no reason to buy new ones if you have these . I'd use the 8-32 fitting .

I drill and tap, clean with acetone, and use a little JB weld on the threads and to fillet in around the hex. Never had one to come loose this way. The JB weld post cures at the pipe temps

Instead of drilling a hole in the pipe, I use a scratch-awl, punch a hole and then tap. This puckers the metal in at the hole and makes it thickerer. Punch it slightly smaller than the tap drill size and you will end up with a hole that is several threads deep. Works for me.

Russells and Charles are great Ideas. if you combined there ideas and use a 90 degree fitting. You can not go wrong.

Make sure to use a twist tie

The straight fittings can chaus the tubing to break at the fitting. And sometimes go unnoticed.
