Guys, I hope that you all had a good weekend of racing boats. I am back on my feet know and feeling stronger every day (it's amazing what phisical theropy, riding a bike about 3 miles a day and going to the gym every day will do for you). Unfortunatly, being out of work for 6 weeks has left me kinda on the broke side, so I couldnt make it over this weekend. Hopefully I will get to see everyone at the Old Dominion race in August.

Once again, I hope that everyone had a good, safe weekend racing there boats, John Crouch
Took 1st again with your old GV and my powerplant John! Won at Greensborro and Centreville, 2 out of 3 races I took it to so far. Might have been on top in Queenstown if not for a blowover too. Love that hull man!! Beasley

what a great weekend! killer weather, good water & (the best part) all my d-12 friends. special mention needs to go to james beasley. he ran 7 boats, & won 6 of those class's!!! that's one helluva good weekend, i don't care who you are  . ron shaw & his crew came up, d-12 has another family of dedicated boaters, with fast boats back with us. great to meet ron, mike & all the rest, had a ball pitted between them & dick & carol. special thanx to jimmy johnson for pitting me all weekend & helping anybody he could. good man to have wandering around the pits B) , he knows how to make boats run faster & handle better! he helped me with some prop & setup on my jae, ran my best heat. guessing low to mid 70's, stable & fun. looking foward to the next race, i'll be ready.......

Thanks Robin for the call-out! Yes, that has to be my high mark for a single race. Johnathan Roberts did me right as my pitman and Jimmie Johnson talked me into shortening my E/F Tunnel pie, giving me the extra rpms I needed to seal the deal in Open tunnel. Guess it will be tough to follow this weekend's act. Had a blast, racing with Ron Shaw and everyone else.

1st - Open FE Mono (Woo-Hoo!)

2nd - B/P-spec tunnel (.....I'll get you James Beasley...lol!...Congrats getting the win!)

2nd -B/P Mono (9 boats running together in those heats!...Whew!!)

2nd - Open FE Hydro

I had a blast this past weekend! Thanks very much to the whole Capitol Club for all of thier hard work to make it all happen smoothly! What a great bunch of guys!! William Whetstone (WW29) gave the club two of his Top Speed tunnels to raffle off AND gave one of his RTR Hydros to Tracy Dolphin's son! What a good hearted soul! Also would like to thank him for being my pitman so many times and for keeping me calm and collected during the heats...same goes for Carol Loeb and James Beasley...Thanks so much!

Also would like to thank Doug Smock for helping me along the way with my Rico Mono build (and the Smock Prop he sent me)! Don Ferrette you are the man for getting that new servo working in that boat....Steve Speas, Steve Sutton and Dick Tyndall are all a great bunch of guys and I feel VERY lucky to be able to get their advice with things as well!

Great weekend with my bro Chilli and his son, John ("Rocky")...they are my boyZ!! Congratz to you both as well for your awards (John is getting good now). That Insane FE 30 that Chilli has is very nice and runs really well (I want one!) Great seeing Pete Welty and his Bro stop by on Sat AND Sun. I think Pete took around 400 pics on Sat alone!!! Holy Sh*%! Can't wait to see some of them!

Hope to see everyone again at D. 12 Race #5!!

-Kent

Robin, All of our NC gang enjoyed finally meeting and having our tent there with you and the Lobe's as well, (poor Carol has her hands full)...haha. Dick and Carol let Mike's son Robert run their VS-1 in his first race ever, and ended up selling him the boat before the weekend, so he can be a permanent fixture at many races in the future. He and his brother Kevin are now "hooked" like his Dad and I. James Beasley could probably build another shop in his backyard with all the "wood" he took home this past weekend. You and your group of racers are a blast to race and hang with!!!!!! Thanks for your friendship and for the original Leecraft and K&B parts as both of these are so hard to find these days. I think an FE Outboard may be in my future and that will be the perfect hull.

It's great to be back after so many years and seeing Tyndall and Speas and so many names from the past are still in the hobby after all these years. Highlight of the racing weekend was racing Beasley's 67 Tunnel with my 40 Tunnel and winning two out of four heats in the open tunnel class. Winning the "Grudge Match" at the end of the race between James Beasley, Dick Lobe, and I, and finally getting a chance to run other 40 tunnels, was icing on the cake...... :) HUGE thanks to Jimmy Johnson for his special prop work and assistance with the Leecraft XT 120 I built last week to run at that race. By the fourth round he helped me turn a new boat into a screamer that started the last heat in first with a rich needle, but after finally catching fire the fourth lap, made up 1/4 lap deficit on Beasley's 20 before catching the infamous "black hole" on the pass on the last lap. District 12 Tunnel racing has to be some of the best in the country!!!!. Thanks for such an awesome weekend of "playing toy boats"............ ;)
