Guys,
What Doc is saying is absolutely true. We have a major health care crisis on our hands, and it's not the growing costs involved. It's their solution. They are going to socialize it, and then ration it. Just like they've done in Europe and Canada. It sounds great when they talk about "Zero Cost" health care. But then they slip 50%+ income tax under the dore in the dead of night to pay for it. In England, they have recently started denying coverage to anything they determine is a "Lifestyle" induced condition. If you are overweight and start having heart problems, "Sorry, you're not covered.........." It's the only way they can keep the crap afloat is to broaden their scope of non-coverage. Another dark side to socialized health care is the impact on the medical manufacturing industries. Right now, the only surviving manufacturing industries are aerospace/defense and medical. When the socialized medicine takes over, the medical industries are going to die in the US due to "John Q Expert" in Washington determining that a bonescrew, that costs $2.5M to get FDA approved and costs $1000 (EACH) to produce is only worth $18 to the "insurer". Guess who's going to lose in that situation. We all are.
I mentioned a couple weeks ago about the Tea Parties that took place all over this great country of ours. How many of you want to one of them? I did. While the guest speakers were basically preaching to the chior, the had some very enlightening things to say. One thing that was said that has stuck with me since I heard it, though, was a quote for Thomas Jefferson, one of our founding fathers and one of the great thinkers of what is referred to as the "Age of Enlightenment":
"A government that is large enough to give you everything you want is also large enough to take away everything you have.
Never have truer words been spoken, then or now. This is the endgame for the engine of "Obamunism". The current administration is pushing toward taking everything we have and giving us back what they think we need. We don't have to just sit back and watch it unfold, though. These Tea Parties are only the beginning of something much bigger if we get involved. They are going to continue and will hopefully increase in size. If you think what is going on sucks, then go to the next one in your area. Sign the petitions. Start contacting your local and State officials. Demand they right the ship before it lists beyond salvage.
Thanks. Brad.
