The Canard is a special boat that NAMBA has made exceptions for and I think that Gordon has suffered the back-lash from those exceptions. Like the pipe being exposed... the four point design... I think that our club would accept a Sport 40 canard, don't you Gordon?

Adam

they might be ok with it until you beat 'um with it, then they would make a stink. just like the exposed pipes you could build a boat that way and people would except it then you start doing well and they'll want you to chang it

If you want to race a sport 40 canard in the club Adam, bring it on water boy!!LOL :p

No no not me Gordie  Canards scare me  lol I did just procure a 3.5 tunnel that is "for my wife" though. Any Argonauts still got some little tunnels?

Adam

The canards will scare the crap out of you. I bought Cecil Reynold Circus-Circus 1/8 scale canard and when I first ran it I had no idea it would go tearing off like a highly modified rigger. Thing hauled big time. Everyone in Golden Gate park crapped their pants because nothing had ever gone that fast in the lake before!

 hey ron you mentioned, that you saw a 3.5 mrp o/b canard run at the grand rapids race a while back, well, was it pinkish/blue in color and did it finish all three heats with two firsts and a third? well that boat and the first place plaque are sitting in my basement right now, yes, that was my boat there that day and do you want to know what our motto was for that day "WE MAY BE THE FASTEST BUT WE ARE THERE" hey if you have it on video tape let me know, also i saw pat kelly's circus canard run at the transom twisters race and it ran real well and held its own

i believe he placed in the top three a that race, small world is'nt it ron

Norm, I'll have to dig up that tape and make a copy for you. It may be the same one that had that weird 3-engined Dumas 'rigger on it, the one with the K&B 3.5 OB's, one on the transon and one on each front sponson.

MY FATHER IN LAW RACED A SPORT40 SIZED ONE. HE HAD THE SCALE PLANS SHRUNK DOWN I WIL GET YOU SOME PICS.....SCARED THE HE## OUT OF THE SPORT GUYS HE WAS BANNED FROM RUNNING IT IN SPORT 40.HE ALSO HAS A CONVENTIONAL CIRCUS THAT DAVID LEE TOLD HIM BROADBECK WAS WILLING TO PAY $2000.00 FOR HE SAID NO AND RACED IT.....MIKEY

i actually like the one at bandit , the full length cowl looks a lot better . i think they got the molds from evergreen. i was kinda hoping to get a used one because it would be an experiment and not a race boat.
