I' VE ALWAYS BEEN FASCINATED BY CANARDS BUT NEVER OWNED ONE. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH EITHER A FISCHER , DAGGER OR SCRATCH BUILT CANARDS?

In the early 80's my Stylleto from Dagger boats was a nice fast boat equipped with a P- 80. but unpredictable in choppy conditions(lot of flips). Turns were consistant but also sensitive .Set up changed depending on the prop so really time consuming.

Recently I saw an Aeromarine with a CMB 90 being a pain in the neck of that guy but I must recognize the very nice boat design.

I had a Circus Circus canard 1/8 scale built by Cecil Reynolds. Flat out hauled and handled great worst mistake ever was selling it. I guy in my neighborhood has been sitting on a brand new Dagger or Fisher canard with a New Picco .80 in it. I've almost boght it 4 different times but have always changed my mind at the last minute.

I have raced the MRP Python canard with outboard power the Stilleto 40 and 60 the 1/8 scale Circus Circus and now an Aeromarine Saber 260 gas power. A canard needs to be set up more like a tunnel if you try to set it up like a hydro they porpoise ,hook and flip a well set up canard runs in lane one rough or smooth water. I still have some stelletto and MRP hulls in the barn.

Funnily enough I have the original mould for the "Wizard" Canard Hydro (Australian boat) which is a 60/80 boat (mine has a 90 in it). Will take a pic or two (once i chisel the dust off it) and post them here

EMS Racing If it floats it can take a radio and a 90!!!

Hi Wingnut!

I have recently sold all of my Gas Riggers to move into Canards. I have at presant a 37" Canard with a 231PUM mod in it and boy it flies. It takes a little time to get the ballance right, I have mine hovering aprox 15mm at the nose at full tilt. Now I need to play with props. Here in Australia I havn't seen a Canard for about 7 years so it woul'd be good to see more running around. If you would like to see some pics I would be happy to send some to you.

My e-mail at home is [email protected]

I'm having trouble attaching the pics to this post.

Happy boating

Damien :D

wingnut,

I got the local fibreglass joint to do one up but I am afraid the layup was a little too thick. I am no expert in glass so I dont want to attempt it. The moulds need a little attention but in general should be good for a decent boat. Would love to do a carbon fibre one :)

I still have one sorta built up with an old CMB 90 sitting in it but have to redo the linkages for an exhaust throttle... may surface soon though if I get some free time hehehe

Damo,

Send pics to [email protected] :) thanx

Craig I know a fiberglass expert in Melbourne, and his specialty just happens to be CF, let me know if you want me to put him intouch. ;) He has a couple of his own designs as well so he does know how thin or thick we want it! B)

Mike,

Definitely send details!!! have a few other moulds and boats to mould!!!!

Mick,

Will be taking pics this week :) will send soon
