Thomas, you must be refering to this, from the NAMBA D-3 website

"- Classes being dropped from the mandatory race lineup for 2010 are Sport 21, C Mono and C Hydro. Gas tunnel was a probationary class and will not be on the mandatory race lineup in 2010. Class on probation for 2010 is Crackerbox."

Correct?

D-3 rules state that a class must "make" a certain number of races during the year to remain a district "mandatory listed on the race flyers" & be a district high points class.

((edited after original post) Thomas, maybe if you were a little more active in your district, and read the rule book & district 3 rules, you would have already known why the class was dropped for 2010.

Now, if you can get enough people to enter, show up, and race at 7 races in 2010. 2011 the class would be reinstated, after it's "probationary" period

Last year, as with 60 MONO, it didn't make enough times.

Clubs can still offer it, just won't be a high points class

BINGO!!!!
That was kinda the deal with Sport 21...we ended up with more of em at the WCRA 1day races than the district 2 day races...wish i could travel more..loved that class...you sure had a SWEET Sport 21 Rick! :)

What a load of crap ...who gives a rats azz about this high point BS anyway ?? It's about competition and comraderie . Some people in this deal really need to take a reality check as to the perceived arrogance of ruling these classes out by not offering them to racers who want to race . It's not like the gene pool of nitro racers is that deep that anyone can afford to alienate even a small group of participants in a class . If you say its dead (not offer the class ) then it will be dead soon enough . How friggin hard is it to type another line on the form ?

Let's race the **** boats already .

I have always held group of core guys that take their time to put this stuff on in the highest regard , but I cannot help but think that some people get on power trips about certain rules and reg of this "sport " Crucify me if you will , see you in the first turn .

Is it possible that anyone in their lives outside of work and their families can only have this one hobby sport , whatever , to take up their weekend free time ???? I doubt it . who can guarantee to make 7 district races ?? Not happening for lots I'm afraid . Still don't get the process of not putting the class on the form . One cannot assume that everyone who stumbles on model boating somehow knows all the ins and outs of what's going on . Offer the classes and see what happens . The so called "Entry level " classes barely ever make it seems .Whatever .

You go Tom, And to all else I got back in this hobby after playing world police for over 20 years. But this whole past year seems to me that a lot of folks are very centered around themselves not the group as a whole. All you need to do is look at what happened local with a lake that was very nice. My two cents is put all classes on the form and if it don't make it inform those that entered and offer a credit or refund. Ask yourself what your in this hobby for and answer it truthful.

I guess I hit a nerve here?????????? I simply posted what the rules are, as VOTED ON BY THE DISTRICT MEMBERS.

I agree with putting ALL of the classes on the flyer, if you have enough boats to make a class, run it.

How are you going to promote a class, if it is not offered???

I have seen 2 classes that I really enjoyed racing, get pulled, because of lack of participation, did I like it? NO!!!!

but did I piss & moan about it? NO!!!! Why? Because I was a member of the district, and that is what the district, as a whole decided on.

Now, I have a question for Mr Elkins? Why was the Brandon club implicated as the club behind the demise of the 60 HYDRO class? Hence my reasoning for pointing out that maybe if he had read the district rules be would have known why Brandon was not offereing the class.

"What a load of crap ...who gives a rats azz about this high point BS anyway ?? It's about competition and comraderie . Some people in this deal really need to take a reality check"

Tom, I'm really sorry you feel this way, and have to disagree with you here, As far as I can remember, ALL FORMS of competition have some sort of a points or championship system in place, some of us do chase the points, and as a district as a whole, the points chase is very important to them, it just happens to be, they/we/I are able to chase the points in a hobby we enjoy doing. For others, the points mean nothing, and that is fine also, but don't expect the district to change there way of doing things, just because you don't agree with it.

Well, i guess that about covers it, agree, disagree, whatever!!!

I guess what I am saying about the points deal is what difference does it make how many races you make it to . If you have the most points at the end of the season ,then you are the High Point Champ in my book . if someone goes to all the races and has bad luck but gathers a few points does that make their point total more legitimate than another guy who cant afford or doesn't have the time to travel all over ? I think not . again it really doesn't matter to me as far as the High Point status , it's nice , but that's where it ends for me . Not trying to knock on someone who is real serious about the high points , that's their deal I guess , but offering the ability to compete is more important .

Everyone - Just remind the Brandon club and other District clubs that they can run any classes they want to. Most of us don't care about that anyway. If we can get enough of us to run C Hydro this year, it would be back next year as a high points class. I for one, would love to start running C Hydro and C Mono again.

..I hate politics and requirements .
AMEN. Especially in something you do to get away from the stresses of life. Lets see how many people we can drive off, then claim its just part of the can't please everybody scenario.

Tom, the only way to be heard is to SPEAK UP.

My dad has always told me:

You have the right to your opinion, wrong or right.

And those who know me might say I am opinionated.

Tom there are a few of us out there like Ron said would like to run C hydro but why build the boat and not be able to run it in all the races or even most of them alot of money to spend on a boat not to be able to run i like most would love to see that class come back.

Hope I didn't offend anyone just strike my comments from the record and I'll keep my mouth shut and race ..I hate politics and requirements .
