julian
I talked to Jose I hear he has some time off for some Fall Racing? Hopefully OBAMA wont send him to Japan to rebuild the Nuke Plant?????? Maybe he can bring the family to Florida too for a little vacation? While the boys Go RACING!!!!!!!!

I have had RR twins and singles and i have made lots of changes and gone faster with some and slower with others , not every boat is the same all you have to do is set the boat back up , i have changed all the angle's of attack and ride pads , even moved the motor's , i use 1/2 C/F tubes with the sponson tube meeting in the center of the tub , makes it double wall i've never had a problem with this set up , if i hit something hard enough i want the sponson to shear off not to tear the tub or sponson up .

Do not overlook the Fall Nationals in Charleston Oct 7-9 for some of the very best racing of the entire year. Many twin nitros and twin gas fighting it out at one of the best racing facilities anywhere.

don i will have pics up soon..dont be stubborn like joe warren..LOL!!!

i really think this is the answer to big block twins..all i want is for this class to grow, and the less we have

to worry about the easier it will be to run this class..which will drag more people to run this class..you need to come down here to some of our florida races..competition is great and now you guys can run your 101"s...
Funny you think I`am the Stubborn One Brett?? You cannot come along after the boat is built.......& Put a 11/16 O.D. tube in a Twin Hydro that has been set up for 5/8 tubing. You change all of the sponsons angles, Turn fin attack angle, Tub angle, Strut angle, & the angle of the rear sponsons. Your New Future Carbon tubes are 100 tho thick.... they have a Bigger OD (11/16). This is NOT GOOD..... READ AGAIN.... NOT GOOD!! You put these in a boat built for 5/8 tubes You instantly Push the TUB Down......... Away Goes Your Performance. Maybe I understanbd How My boat is Set up & dont want to Hurt the Performance of the Boat with a Tube that HAS a LARGER OUTER Diameter. How many Races Has your boat Won with these new tubes? WHERE ARE THE RESULTS?? .........    Another thing... If the Tubing was the Correct size & indistructable? When you do have a problem (hit whatever) you will transfer the stress to the tub because the tube is not breakabale? Right??...... I`ll Throw Front Ends away ever race... If My tub has No damage I`am happy camper...... Set your boat up Properly & you will Quit Blowing it off & Tumbling thru the corner & bending parts...... If your Serious about Un Breakable Boom Tubes buy some 5/8 Tiatanium Boom Tubes. You can buy them too & Not alter your entire Boat....... Pull Your Head Out of YOUR.... FLORIDA SAND & Pay Attention Boy!!!!!!!!!  You might learn something!! I`ll be in Atlanta Spring Nats . Please Attend... & Get you Some.....
Mr. Warren is 100% correct, you should not push the twin RR Xtreme ride heigth down. Performance will be gained at the higher ride heigth. Flat bottom boat or Blow back boat as Joe said both benefit from a hi ride height.

next year we will come up to give u guys hell..see ya
Well I came to Orlando to see IT........ & NO Win in Orlando, NO Win in West Palm , & NO WIN in Brandon?????? You Sure those Tubes are Working for YA????????      Go with the 5/8 O.D. Tiatanium tubes if you are SERIOUS!!!!!!!! You CANNOT Redesign the boat after it is Built!!!!!!! You are altering the most important area of the boat that is Most Critical........ Ones that know how to Set a Boat Up Will know this........ The ones that Dont??? Well They Just dont Know????????? Never too late to learn........ :p
joe were going to have some serious fun late this season...just plan on making one of our florida races and bring down the big boys..maybe even stu and andy will enter.. :D ps-aluminum tubes were used in the orlando winter nats
I wish for you guys to get a Fall Race Together with Some TWIN Racing. I will be there........ We have Atlanta Spring Nats, Huntsville Spring Race, Evansville Spring Race, Evansville Nitro Nats, Possibly Hobart? Evansville Fall Race already & then ONTO FLORIDA for a Fall Event & Some Twin Racing........
Joe:

Look for an announcement tomorrow. We got our new pond approved by the City of St Petersburg and will start setup Next Week.

Look for 2 new races, with REAL OLD formats to be hosted here in St Pete this Fall.

I sure did enjoy myself. Wish that I did better with the standings but I'll take what I got. I think that the full moon on Saturday affected some of us. Walt Barney and I was talking about it. The flow settings were all over the radar for all of our boats. Friday's readings taken should have been a good baseline for Saturday but no. Unreal and many of us were talking about it on Sunday. Sunday's readings, even with the higher winds, were dead on from Friday. Rather spooky. Running in almost mud did not help. I did not see that when we came in Nov '09.

Brett bring a good strong group when you come to the Fall Nats and you will not miss another one. It is one of the very best competitive races anywhere. The past 3 years entries were comprised of 2/3rds nitro and 1/3rd gas, all loaded for bear.

So let me ask you this...... you make the boom tubes bullet proof then what will be the point of failure? The tub? The sponsons? And yes with that much mass and that much speed there WILL be a point of failure. With spiral wound carbon or fiberglass boom tubes they will break and do so usually without any tub damage if they are sleeved internally where they pass through the tub to just beyond the outside of the tub walls. The sponson stubs should be aluminum and have sufficient wall thickness to not bend easily or break off and be securely mounted in the sponson, preferrably in wood dowels, not just glued by themselves into the foam. When done in this manner usually you are just replacing boom tubes after a bad crash and worst case perhaps heating up the aluminum sponson stubs pulling them out and gluing in new ones. Been there done that with many different variations and for me personally this has become the best way. :)
Todays Late 2010/2011 RR TWINS are Running 2024 - T6 tubing .065 Wall Thickness HARD MO/FO`s...Sponson tubing the Same 2024 T6 in wood dowels & WINNING RACES TOO!!!!!!!!! Maybe Brett will Step up to a Current Flat Bottom RR TWIN & Get into the Current Design Boat & the WINNERS CIRCLE????????????    MAYBE NOT, He is a Little Stubborn!!!!! B) p.s Brett they call me HAMMER HEAD, You have No Idea.......

7075-t6 as hard as it comes. 2024 and such is soft. Been working with this stuff for 30 years, different parts have different needs to carry the loads to keep flying. check out this link

where ya been brett ? a group from FL goes to SC, good turn out last year. get out more, out of the state of sunshine and OJ

I'll stick with Aluminum for cost reasons as well as quick replacement . I had at least 6 sets of tubes in this little red boat , 4 sets of sponsons ..tub still in one piece ..amazing !!! :D

Tom My 1st 60 U/L .... Has been thru more than 20-25 complete front ends. Still have the tub today. it was a Excellent boat, But the sponsons paid the price while I learned to drive...
