Best gear for 1/8 Scale hydro

I have two 1/8 scale hydro wooden frame kits, 69 Notre Dame and Smokin' Joe's, under construction.

Looking for the best hardware setup on Fast Electric for sport running.

Any suggestions will be welcome.

My thinking is to put a Castle 240HV ESC, 1527 1y motor, for sport running, what is the best battery for a longer run time and prop to fit?

You don't need the Castle HV for 8S.

Can a Hobbywing 180AR ESc handle the 8S ?

No if it's the same as this controller. I do use the Turnigy 180 Marine ESC on an electric sport 40 with 6S power. The Castle 240 is the choice for 8S.
