I dont subscribe to this magazine, but I do buy here and there. In my opinion, the mag is more for the leisure boater vice a sunday racer.

Just my thoughts. What do you guys think?

I gave on RCBM a few years ago. It's all BS, the product reviews were always skewed toward the advertising dollar & when Finch stopped writing for them there wasn't much left worth reading.

There used to be many interesting articles, boat build projects, engine reviews (NITRO) etc., but not for along time. I dont subscribe any more. I have many old issues that i still use for reference. I e-mailed with some suggestions, but never got a reply. Richard D.

I agree Don. The articles that I mostly read were John's and JD's. I have John's books and they are like the Bible to me.

I did get an offer from Matt to write for them have have since turned him down. After seeing how they completely mess up Jerry's articles and no telling what they've done with other contributors to the mag, I didn't want to see what they would to do anything that I'd submit. I'd rather give out help for free than to see it messed up and get paid for it.

This is nothing towards John or Jerry as we need you guys in there. I see that Rick Eyrich has been writing for the competiton, Marine Modelling International.

yeah, i got it too. what about the 6 issues script i already dropped coin on, i lose 2? actually the mag started getting a little beat over the last several years anyhow :(

The last issue that I got off the shelf had a big article about electric boats and in that article they really cut down on nitro boats. I thought that was out of line for such a publication. Same thing happened to "Powerboat" magazine (lifesize boats). Used to be a great racing magazine that covered all kinds of boats. Now it is all million dollar offshore boats. Advertising is like $15,000 a page. Needless to say I have not subscibed in years.

I usually pick up a copy at a book store when they get them which can be spotty at best. The reviews of boats, especially the RTR's, seem to be written by the manufacturers advertising dept! This cost me dearly as my father got hold of a copy of RCBM and seen the review of the aquacraft hammer electric and went out and bought it. He had so much trouble I gutted the hull and reequipped it on my dime(or rather 2 "C" notes). And besides, any good info is going to be found on sites such as this, especially for the go-fast crowd.

That's the reason I stopped my renew in 2000 ....very few thecnical articles like Finch and Dunlap and lot of junk products reviews.

I had written an Article on the IMPBA Nats last year along with great pictures. Sent it in and he never ran it. Then I asked what I should write for this year's and he never replied.... They seem uninterested in us.

You're right, they're not interested because they don't make any advertising money off us. <_<
