Are these hulls any good?

It looks like by the pic, that the "V" angle at the transum is less than 18deg. It looks like it is around 10 deg at the most. ;) Not sure how well it will corner.

or am I not seeing it right.

Picture looks as though it would be a good hull for use with a subsurface drive (prop and rudder beneath the hul). Not as fast as Surface drive but simpler and more robust. With such a setup it would probably turn left and right at least as well as any surface drive mono.

I bought one from Leo, he knows his SH1T!!!!

as far as i know, i was the second person to purchase one from him, (based on the feedback i left was the second one)

(anyone remember "Project Lemon"???)

i set one up with a subsurface Prather stainless X215 prop, Picco 3.5 and it runs like a scalded dog!!

I highly encourage you to buy one, i have so much fun with mine...

i asked leo to post a pic of mine i took while running...

look at the ebay site and youll see it, where it says:

"Three pictures (NOT THE AUCTION ITEM)" - thats my baby!!!!!!!!!

my wife could barely keep the camera on it...

wswatzell, you are right, good eye... 12 degree angle at transom, i have trim tabs on each side, as well as turn fins, if i had a camcorder it still wouldn't do it justice... at full speed, it'll whip around on a dime!!

I am highly pleased!!!

and the front angles...

better yet, see his website, you should be able to purchase one direct...

Leo is in Hong Kong, so shipping will take a little longer, but he packs his boats well and it is well worth the wait...

I remember that thread. What engine did you have in it, I don't remember.

Cy, I guess you got your answer. It sounds like a good hull. :D

picco 3.5...

now you made me get the boat down and get it ready for this weekend... lol

shame on you...

any estimate of the speed?

most days at my club, any 20 mono that can get around the course at decent speed without flipping all 3 heats gets at least 2nd.

I see some bidders have got these for $30 plus shipping. Thats a pretty good deal. Do you know what he charges if you buy direct.

Shame on me!!! The water here is hard for up to 8" in most places!!! Shame on you for saying you are going boating this weekend!!!!

LOL!!!!!

Dear all,

This is Leo, the WaveChopper30 maker & designer. Mark was the second one who bought this boat.

His boat was made from second set of moulds. The moulds now in use are the third and fourth set of moulds. Quality is now much improved.

I have many set up drawings for the this boat. Would like to share them. Yet, take time to make them computer files.

There was so far no time to finish the web site. So just sell them on ebay.

I would be likely busy, so would be less responsive. Drop me e-mail please: [email protected]

Happy r/c boating

This is a fun boat of very high quality but don't confuse it with a racing mono. It is no Seaducer!!! The change in angle from front to rear is too big. The thing will ride with its nose high and spin all over the place with a high power .21.

Dave

thanks... i was thinking more for a pleasure/first race boat than full out seaducer, but if it's better for just crusing around my back yard i'd be happy with that too :)
