As the Power Goes Up and different props are Found.. The boat designs will change Just like Nitro Twin racing. they will continue to move the CG and the Balance Points to Improve Balance at FULL SPEED. it is a NON STOP Game to improve the Performance of the Boat!!

Guys Lupe Perez and Scott Anderson both have great gas riggers that run over 80 in a race.

Gust ask any one here in FL. thy are bad boats.

Both are made by them and thy share designs to a point.

Ralph has looked all over these boat and is designing his gas Road Runner like them.

Scott's boat uses his old .40 RR front sponson if you believe that.

Scott's boat wins almost ever heat it runs hand down.

Albert will have his hand's full racing theses boat . You can take that to the bank. ;)
David, Ralph may have looked at them.............But I will EMPTY the bank on he is desiging his like them.
Believe me Chuck it has bin more than just a look. ^_^
I find it hard to believe that Ralph will splash someone else's boat. Now something I can say is that a lot of people have splashed and made a roadrunner copy in nitro and gas.

Thats impressive in IMPBA D-2 no ones Gas riggers are near that speed. Most of the guys here are low 70's using the Warpaths and Mod 27's, Definitely would like to see an 80 mph gas boat

Tony, we probably will next season. The Warpath's have been dominating around here but certainly not in the 80 MPH range. With Brian's Slingshot there may be a lot more people racing them come spring.

Early reports on the CMB 27 were that they didn't like regular drives as they were pushing the drive against the bearings causing problems so people had to use square drives. I don't know if that issue has been fixed or not.

Tony many of the early boats were actually Nitro Boats that had a Gas engine fitted into the hull. Finally the Boat builders have went back and considered the Weight of the gas engine and came up with better locations of the engines and a few other parts. This has improved the performance in many gas classes in the last year by the boat actually getting better CG numbers. Nitro engine turn twice the Rpm on less diameter props. the Gas is trying to Run the same speed @ 1/2 the RPM and a Large diameter prop. This requires a special CG and balance. Just because others can glue two sticks together sometimes is not enough. Your Hydro must be liteweight, Straight, Square and Flat. You Must also be able to reproduce the sponsons & the same angles in the event of a high speed wreck.

Lupe's boat is a little slower than Scott's.

Have bin at the test pond many times with the gun on Scott's boat at 80

Then again my SGX 1.01 only showed 70 at the last race.

So tell me Brett my boat is only doing 70

That is why I don't use a gun or my eagle tree any more.

No one said he was splashing any thing.

That is why he will not make his boat exactly like theres so this kind of BS dose not start.

Mr Wilfong..............Which do you think...........or know came first. The Chicken or the Egg.............????

the egg!!!!!!!!

It is known function of evolution.

There will undoubtedly be some improvements.

Ross had one of the first RR gas boats at the pond a few years ago.

But it did not pan out. He now runs one Lupe built.

Thy also run Twin gas eng rigger Lupe built also.

Remember the run Ross had at Charleston wining the Twin rigger shoot out two years in a row?

Lupe built boat.

But Scott Anderson started this evolution.

With his design using his recycled .40 RR front sponsons.

And the circle come back to where it started.

the question is will it evolve in the right direction.

The wart hog with pontoons as I call it is not the way.

And this is were we part ways. You do not know what you speak of. Gas motors in Road Runner boats.....Check your IMPBA History.

And them go back and read what Joe wrote.............. The evolution as you put it has been a round for a while.....since the time of creation for these of use that belive the chicken was first.
