I tried to get a Western Union Money Order from an Australia Post Business Office a couple of weeks back and they told me they no longer provide them. They offered me a Western Union Money Transfer, however, the fees were ridiculous  I'm not sure whether the same rule applies to an actual Post Office, if such a thing still exists??

I advised the Seller of the problem and asked whether he knew anyone with PayPal to whom I could send money. In the end he set up a PayPal A/C and I covered the fees. PayPal has an FX Rate about 2.4% higher than the going exchange rate and another small charge for the fees the Seller would normally pay. The bottom line, is that, in my experience, it is more economical for us in OZ to use PayPal than Western Union, ANZ Visa Card or Overseas Bank Transfer.

Hey Brad, you gunna run that boat at the Caribbean Masters? It looks great!

Thanks Tim/Kesso,

Yeah I looked at the Western Union Transfer, it will cost me $50 to do it that way! Does not make the purchase as feasible taking into account the fee.

This setup has not seen water yet. Time is against me to get my boats ready for the Masters as it is, I've decided to shelve it until after the Masters when I've got time to dial it in. Will be running a HTB290/Nova at this stage, which had it's first outing a week ago, still got some bugs to iron out with it.

Brad

Not to throw a spanner in the works; if I remember correctly, Western Union money transfers are final. That is, no goods, no come back!

You can try an International bank transfer.. Takes a bit to set up with your bank, but could be one alternative. Mind you, I guess they're final as well :-(

Cheers

Your bank can do international checks...I am pretty sure a few years ago I got the NAB to do one for me, it might have cost $30...

another way is to find a buddy in the USA to send the money to, then ask if they can send a cheque to the seller...

Thanks Kris, this time around I decided to eat the $50 fee. Hopefully I don't need to use Western Union again anytime soon.

Although, it was very straight forward, and seller can get his coin within 30 minutes of me arranging it at the local PO.

I'm in a similar boat to Kesso for the Masters. Out of the 3 classes I've entered, two of the classes have only 4 boats entered. Do you think these classes will still run?

Cheers,

Brad

LOL

Yes I do man! Hope you guys have great weather this weekend. Spewing I can't make it down again this year.

Only Kesso and I ran A O/B tunnel on the weekend at Penrith. Kesso had some steering issues, and I was trimmed just a little too light to stay on the throttle past the half straights. 1 last lap DNF after a big backflip and 1 win for me. I didn't bother in the 3rd round. 1 DNS and 1 DNF for James. I think he's just getting it out of his system before the masters.

LOL

Thats unlike Kesso to have steering issues

Best of luck to everyone racing at the Masters this weekend. I hope the weather is kind and you get some great tunnel racing water.

Some great racing and FAST boats this weekend!

BTW KESSO, I am glad to have taken the trophy back from you (A O/B that is, you can have the B O/B I had last time ;) )

Aaron ran a 1:26 (ish) heat time with his Nova powered Vision, water was still a little rough plus some traffic and sitting out in lane 6 most of the time!! 2-lap here we come!

Well done Kris, smart and consistent racing got you the results. Well done James for piloting the Breakthrough to second place, with mine coming in third. They were some pretty terrible conditions that we all had to contend with.

I think Graham Simonsen won the electrics but that was with a mono... Kris can elaborate on what was happening with that class.

I finally got the GO starting to really get up and go... I'd say it's almost run in now.

Well done guys sounds like some awesome racing!

Wish I could have been there!

Hopefully everyone can make it for Narionals.
