........ and the castle neu 1515 1y from ebay...they are 149$...a steal and run almost identical to the original Neu motors. (others might disagree here, but thats my 2 cents).
Ebay NEU motors?! Can you post a link please?

Thanks

This is the set up Patrick was talking about 2C2S shoud turn 32500 RPM and have 250 amps on line if needed. In a 4lbs rigger this thing would be a blast. Depending on load on prop should run about 8 to 12 min. 4HP for about 3 min more than enough time to go real fast!

$500 set up with charger and never buy fuel again or glow plugs. Same price or less as nitro setup. I'm In!!!!!!!!!

Ohm those motors... they are the 1/8 scale buggy motors from Castle Creations,

seem to be powerful... but they are not the 1515/1Y motors.

Thanks for the links,

Thanks for the links,

ub..Thanks for the question....its always good to definately check things out. I thought these were the same as 1515 1y, just finned for buggy use. In addition to brushless boat, I run a 1/8th mugen buggy that I converted to brushless. I have talked to some 1/8th buggy guys on rc-monster and have heard them described as being no different in performance than a 1515 1y, smooth can..only slightly heavier. I believe I saw one post...(can't even remember what site it was on, rumrunner, ose...etc...not sure. But I did see someone put a cooling jacket OVER the finned motor, and use it in a fast 4s boat. I will look for that link.

Well I pushed the button I'm building a FE.

I hope I don't burn it up going to try pulling AB 5096.
Interesting... one thing that's weird is, they say max of 50,000 rpm and 6s...

2770 Kv @6s it's more like 61,500 RPM... a little contradiction here...

I would not use more then 4s on that motor anyway.
I.m going to use this batt in series with this controller you think this will work?

Yes it also say max 110 amp, 2000 watt. the numbers just don't add up. I will just have to find out the hard way.

I was reading NAMBA rules for P class and it says 10000 mAh max is that total or sum of packs. would this set up be legal?

Well, I have to say that I have one of those ESCs (very similar by Himodel), it will work for leisure use, but I doubt it'll for for much more then that, but, I could be wrong, I have not been able to use my Himodel in an exerted way yet.

For "P" it's 10k mAh TOTAL, here is what I have to say about that, you may use need that much for oval races so you can race w/o being to hard on the cells... the batteries your link takes me to I have never heard of... I don't think they will work too well, just by looking at it they are 20c packs, it may not be enough for "P" expectations... just my .02

If running this batt in series the total out put would be 10000 mAh at 14.8v would that be legal in p class?

At 20c that would be 200 amps?

The controller is rated at 200 amps and the motor at 110 amps do you think this would be enough margin if I watch motor temp?

It is legal for P (depending on the hull).

It would be 200 amps, pre-heat the cells to 95-110F, then the resistance would be much lower and so would the heat accumulation.

The motor can take it, use a cooling jacket though.

Looks like a fun proj.

I am building a Kep,s .21 nitro right now and am going to build a tub for FE use. That way I can swap sponsons, running gear and receiver to keep coast down.

I have started a thread on general forum on Eagle Tree data logger. I think this would be a very good system for boat setup.
