Hi Glen; I think I know the folks you are talking about, an I can assure you it was not a lubrication problem. J.

Ran the NR 21DD today with the Bouchie pipe, 3 tanks on the bench and then the lake, no issues. looks like lots of potential for the NR combo.
Very good! Remember this pipe and motor combo wants more load and will use more fuel than other combos!! Try hot plugs and keep the head clearance at .006" in order to burn the nitro! Oh yeah the most important part, make sure to run the motor warm enough to burn the fuel! If any of you guys looked at the video close enough you will notice my motor does not even have a water cooled head on it, just the head button!

I've had folks ask about the prop, so here I a pic of how much it was back cut. It is pretty much full dia with some added pitch and cup. Of course it is very thin and sharp!

Fun clip to watch, got a little dizzy though, looks like your chasing flys on the lake! All good tips for running the NR, it's just so weird to run little or now water but true, you need to hear the little buggers up to make them go. I run the Brian B's CF pipe, only drawback is that it's so quiet it's hard to hear when the other bees get on the lake! Running my NR in a keps and it really flys!

Yeah Greg it is kinda all over the place! My pond is a little short on this end so I have to kinda run triangles to let the motor wind up! And I reall don't like the leg of the triangle that points straight to the bank we are standing on so I often cut that one short!

Yeah if I was running this in a race or with the cowling on it I would have to add a TINY bit of water cooling.

Guys,

Try them at 46 mm, then you don't have to cut all the pitch and cup

out of the trailing edge of the propeller. The diameter is more of a

problem than the pitch is. Soon you can just buy an ABC 1815 or a

1817 with 17 degrees of rake and just run fast without all the work.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

Finally had a chance to do some testing yesterday with my Bouchie pipe and .21 DD Nova combo. Real impressed with the torque and RPM. Able to pull props that my last wrap around motor struggled with. Found one 60X59 in the box that was perfect for both launch and straightaway speed. Look out Jeff Schindler. Lol
