we have the flyers done.

we have online registration thru rcracingevents.com and can be paid by paypal.

race is shaping up nicely.

we have the host hotel arragements done and we have the whole hotel (holiday inn express 419.586.4919) spoken for until september 1st then it goes on the open market at normal rates. prices are reduced for this race,but must be at the host hotel.that info will be availabe when the flyer is posted.

we have the banquet all set for friday nite at the American legion post 2 miles from the race site. if anyone can remember the last time, the food and site is great!

thursday nite is cookout at the pond, always a great time.

we are offering ls 27 and ls 36 classes + offshore. ls 27 may also bump to ls36.

there has been some inquiries about rooms being filled for gas nats. this apparently is coming from internet inquies about room availability. it says is booked full.

rooms are BLOCKED , not full.

motel will try and correct problem on internet.

here is some new room information.

I just talked to shelly at the holiday inn. She said that you need to enter a group booking code "wrc" on line to get a room that has been blocked

you can keep up with the progress at rcracingevents,com. we have entries from europe, canada, california, texas, conneticut,florida, mich, indiana ,ohio and expect many more in the coming weeks. we have 75 boats so far.

sept 1 is the end of the motel and race discount for entries, then the price increases, so enter early. payment can be mailed , but you must enter online.

HERE IS AN IMPORTANT UPDATE.

some people wish to enter the 36 with 27 boats , want to change a class, or what ever, this can be done, but, you cannot do it.

to get this accomplished, e-mail ([email protected]) all info just as entering on line. it will be $15.00 per class. this will also need sent by pay pal ([email protected]) or regular mail.

another reminder, those who are sending by mail their entry money,it time to get this done also .

we did just get the word from the internet supplier , they are going to set an antennae, and give us the necessary equiptment to be live on the internet, free of charge!!

The Facebook page is 2011 Ipmba Gas Nats (it wouldn't let me do IMPBA). Anyone is welcome to participate on there, keyboard racing is welcome ahead of the race!

I don't know how much face time I'll have on the webcast as I've got 3 boats entered including the 1 that my son is racing. My daughter-in-law is also rolling down to take pix and videos. I'll try to have her keep the Facebook site updated. I was stupid enough to volunteer to help out in any way that I could so tune in to watch me do something like lose control of my bodily functions as I'm not that good in front of the camera.

No haircut as I missed sheep shearing season (say that 3 times fast!) and haven't worn a suit in years. Shameless promotion is welcome with free T-shirts though, I wear an XL. A tan I could use as I'm as pale as a plucked chicken.

motor homes , campers can stay on site, no hookups water or electric. , all will have to stay on the pavement. we have a company that will come in to service them if needed for a fee.

tent campers can also stay ,can be in the grass.

permanent restrooms but no showers.

we are the only game in the whole park so room should not be an issue.

restraunts, super wal-mart all within 1/2 mile.

we will have the pit area marked off for set up.

controlled open water tuesday when set up is finished, usually by noon, anyone who arrives early is welcome to help.

weds controlled open water will continue

controlled open water will cease at or before 5 each day

we will have hot food on site with a variety of sandwiches, sides (home cooking) and beverages (race day, thursday,friday, saturday).

We made it through the weekend alive but it's a wonder that somebody hasn't come down with pneumonia. The Driftwood club put on a great and very memorable event, my hat's off to those who worked their tails off to make it the success that it was. I didn't expect much from my boats but one did better than I thought, my Cat. It got me into the Top 6 for the final heat but that's where I ended up. Mike Ross gave me a few tips that helped immensely. Met a lot of people that I only knew from the 'net, they're more fun and crazier in person!

Congrat's to Charles Rakes who not only made up some killer smoked pork butt but also won the first Johnny Ber Memorial award. The Davis family were our "neighbors" in the pits, had a blast with them along with the Notter's, Tony Jacuzzi and the Reisinger's. Joe, a.k.a. JoseyWales pitted with me.

Oh yeah, a little video that I quickly threw together tonight shot by my daughter-in-law Whitney who also shot over 500 pix on Dan's camera.
