Hi guys,
i have a 5mm mounting screw depth on my 2860 motor, I assume the 5mm refers to how much of the screw enters the threads on the motor?
So I assume I would measure the screw depth from the mounting surface that comes in contact with the motor...Not from the front side (shaft side) of the mount mount.
So would it be good practice to measure the thickness of the motor mount and add that into the overall equation?
Eg - 5mm screw depth in motor + the thickness of the motor mount (4mm) - I need 9mm screws...is this correct?
Thank you for your help, cheers guys.

Sounds right to me. Cap screw length is figured for the amount of thread depth. Not oval depth of bolt. IE 4/40 x 1/2 is 1/2 of thread with about 5/8 or so oval length.

Thank you Mike, appreciate your answer.
I'd hate to screw into the motor internals....just reassuring myself and avoiding the horror of damaging a motor, thank you for your help with that, cheers.
