WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Anything on the entry list?
Guys,
Here is the status at this moment:
1. I am working with Jeni to get the final list prepared and double checked. Sit down when I tell you we have over 340 boats entered for this race, making it the biggest race in this region, ever. Jeni has been gone over 80% of the past 6 weeks for races and for the birth of her first grandchild.
2.. We have canceled 3 classes due to lack of entries - Crackerbox, E (60) Mono and E/F Tunnel. We have to get in touch with those racers that are directly affected by the classes being canceled. Intent is to offer spots, where available, in other classes to run, to replace those that have been canceled. That is not yet finished.
3. We have classes that are overfilled and will have wait lists created. We cannot add additional heats as it will add significantly to the length of the race. We also feel that the length (# of heats run in the 2009 race) is about the limit we want to try and work with, and that was about 194 heats for a 3 day race. We will be working with club members to try and vacate spots for the visitors that want to come in. That has not yet started. But some entries from some racers in certain classes just may not happen. We are doing our best to accommodate all that we can. There should be some classes that will have one or two openings to fill up an incomplete heat. They will be announced accordingly. Entry for those will be done by mail with payment ONLY.
4. There are still some that have not yet sent in their payment for the race. If any of you are in that group, you must send it in NOW or you will be dropped from the list. Complete the entry form and send in the payment or you forfeit your slot. The race flyer states that only mail entries with payment is the only means permitted to enter the race. Some of you have tried by e mail and that is not permitted.
Once we get those above items sorted out, we will release the final list on IW and on Jim's too. That may take a few weeks to complete. If you have to cancel a boat or coming to the race, PLEASE notify Jeni immediately so we can get the slot filled by someone else. But I can tell you all that the competition level for the 2010 Fall Nationals is much greater than the 2009 and the 2008 races with the racers entered. This race sold out in 17 days and the continued interest is exceptional.
John
