OK, Can anyone clue me in as to why it is SO important to have class trophy sponsors for this race?

I mean really, how much money is needed to buy them?

The way I am figuring it there are 311 boats entered at $15.00 per boat, that is $4665.00 divided by 22 classes is $212.00 per class for awards.

Why is $150.00 on top of race entries needed for awards

Just my curiosity

You still need money for gasoline, generators, food, drinks, repairs to retrieval boat and retrieval boat motors, printing cost, stamps for mailing, computers, printers, race program, fees for the site usage, trash removal........

Thats just to name a few of the items. The $4,665.00 will be used up pretty quickly for all that kind of stuff.

Depending on how many trophies per class, $150.00 is not that much. Nice trophies for an event like this can exceed $212.00 per class pretty quickly.

I only know this because we just hosted The NAMBA National. I had NO IDEA of all the hidden cost until we put on this race. Without the help of class sponsorship we could not have done it.

Just mho

Do not forget the $3 per boat x 311 = $933 That we pay to the District for your nice awards at the end of the year.!
