Here is your INVITATION
On behalf of the members and executive of the Model Boat Club of New South Wales (New South Wales is the state where Sydney is) and the Australian Model Power Boating Association, I would like to extend to you a personal invitation to attend and compete in our forthcoming international competition – The ‘2008 World Circuit Racing Challenge’ – being held in Sydney from the 6th to 12th of January 2008.
Now that the big races are over in the States, you are no doubt looking for that next ‘BIG’ event to compete in and enjoy. Our ‘2008 World Circuit Racing Challenge’ is just what you are looking for. And don’t forget, it’s summer in Australia in January, so here is your chance to not only compete in a true ‘World’ event but to escape the cold (and maybe snow) to come visit Sydney and spend so vacation time in Australia – a country you have always wanted to see.
The ‘Challenge’ format will be a little different from what you are used to. Each competitor will compete in 6 (Six) Heats of Circuit Racing for each class. Scoring will be by a ‘points for place’ method the same as NAMBA and IMPBA and the competitor with the highest score will be the 2008 World Circuit Racing Challenge winner.
For further information, please go to www.modelboatclubofnsw.com as well as www.2008challenge.com for information and to download your entry form. I would suggest you also go to www.ampba.asn.au to check all the AMPBA Class definitions and Rules.
The venue for the event will be the main rowing lake at the SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL REGATTA CENTRE (www.sirs.com.au). This was the site of the 2000 Olympics. It is a beautiful venue with all conveniences and is app. a 0ne (1) hour drive from the city.
Should you need any further advice, information, or have any questions - please contact me at [email protected] and I will be happy to assist in any way I can. We look forward to seeing you all in Sydney next January.
